[ It's dark -- mostly because it's late, but there aren't an excess of lights on, either -- though Reggie's face is faintly illuminated by the light of his communicator screen and also something off-screen that might be a TV or bedside light. Either way, he's recognizable enough, and though he's smirking faintly his expression is otherwise somewhat blank.

He's been staying out of most of the current drama as best as any survival-oriented, cowardly narcissist can, which is pretty damn well. All things considered. Basically he hasn't been leaving the house if he can avoid it, for which has his reasons. ]

So, all right. Hear me out. Anyone else ever noticed how once you're here, you have to just start believin' in everything? Like that any kinda crap is possible and you just gotta get used to it... after a while you don't even have to think about it anymore. [ Which is, you know, nice. In his opinion. ] Nice thing about that is not having to worry so much about whatever happens, I think. No matter how bad things have gotten here, it's never been the end of the world.

... Well, not yet. [ And his brow crinkles at that, but only briefly. ] Kinda makes you think, huh? Like what's the best way to take advantage of being stuck in some world that actually takes okay care of us? Don't even bother arguing with me about that part, it's true and everyone oughta know it. We get a lot of free, fake time to kill being here, so I say it should be obvious: we can do whatever we can't do back where we came from. Anyway, what I actually wanna know is--

I travel a lot between the Porter cities. Keeps it a bit fresh for the time being.

[ She pauses. ]

What's on your bucket list, hm?

Not me. Travel's a drag, I like it fine here in sunny Florida. People complain, but I don't got a problem with it.

[ He tilts his head in mild consideration, shrugging his shoulders. ]

Well, marry rich will be on it somewhere.

Marrying here?

If I'm here for a while I'm not ruling it out or anything.

[ Teenagers... ]

That's a big step to take if it does happen.

[ He's planning ahead! ]

Doesn't have to be. I'm ideal trophy-husband material.

I think you should strive to be something more than someone's trophy.

Hey, I didn't say I'd be only that. I got plenty of time to have my own flashy career first.

I have a few. [ He pauses. ] Ain't exactly decided on one yet, there's a lot of options. I always figured I'd get into sports or entertainment.

Entertainment, huh?

Yeah. [ He raises his eyebrow almost combatively. ] So? What of it?

Easy there, it only surprised me.

What specifically would you wanna do?

You don't think I'm entertaining?

[ Pfft! ]

Something on a stage. Or, I dunno-- [ Acting, music, film, "other" -- though he's less enthusiastic about the idea than he used to be. It's hard for him to picture the future. ] As long as I got an audience.

I don't know you all that well.

[ Reggie seems more moody than anything else in her opinion so far. ]

Takes guts to stand up in front of an audience. Ever tried those theater workshops?

Did a lot of drama back in high school and I play guitar. I got plenty of guts, don't get me wrong. I just don't know if fame here's all that worth it.

[ Though, yeah, she's not wrong in her impression. Reggie wants to seem like the guy who loves the spotlight more than he currently feels like that guy. ]

I think we have plenty of it for being imPorts.

But if you enjoy doing that you should pick it back up. Gives you something to do while you're here.

I figure I'll get to it. Just haven't really felt like it yet. I did sports at school when I first got here, that was okay. Can't really make money off that 'til I'm at least college level, though.

And you're the one talking about bucket lists.
