[ It's dark -- mostly because it's late, but there aren't an excess of lights on, either -- though Reggie's face is faintly illuminated by the light of his communicator screen and also something off-screen that might be a TV or bedside light. Either way, he's recognizable enough, and though he's smirking faintly his expression is otherwise somewhat blank.

He's been staying out of most of the current drama as best as any survival-oriented, cowardly narcissist can, which is pretty damn well. All things considered. Basically he hasn't been leaving the house if he can avoid it, for which has his reasons. ]

So, all right. Hear me out. Anyone else ever noticed how once you're here, you have to just start believin' in everything? Like that any kinda crap is possible and you just gotta get used to it... after a while you don't even have to think about it anymore. [ Which is, you know, nice. In his opinion. ] Nice thing about that is not having to worry so much about whatever happens, I think. No matter how bad things have gotten here, it's never been the end of the world.

... Well, not yet. [ And his brow crinkles at that, but only briefly. ] Kinda makes you think, huh? Like what's the best way to take advantage of being stuck in some world that actually takes okay care of us? Don't even bother arguing with me about that part, it's true and everyone oughta know it. We get a lot of free, fake time to kill being here, so I say it should be obvious: we can do whatever we can't do back where we came from. Anyway, what I actually wanna know is--

[ He pauses, then exhales almost impatiently. ]

I am, I was just thinkin' about something else. Got distracted for a second. So much going on in this head of mine, y'know? [ Because he's so creative. ] What's the actual difference, anyway? Is there one? Between... witches and sorceresses.

I can go with that.

[ She shrugs a shoulder. ]

What were you thinking about? [ The question isn't asked in a pressing matter, more just with a curious tone. ] There's not really much of a difference other than people usually think bad things when they hear witch.

I was thinkin' about witches. [ Matter-of-factly, since it's the subject of contention at the moment. Well... of conversation, anyway. ] I mean, there's probably a reason for that, isn't there?

[ See, no sugar-coating. ]

[ She narrows her eyes slightly and then rolls then. ] Yeah, the media decided that we had gross skin, big noses, and wore stupid looking hates.

Pfft, the media. I never said witches had to be ugly or nothin' -- anyone I know of's ever been called that was actually the opposite. It's the black magic thing I figure people got issue with.

The assumption that we do some sort of terrible black magic has to come from somewhere though.

No it's not true. I know more that don't than do.

So you know lots of witches? [ He raises his eyebrow, then shrugs. ] I mean, if someone could do basically anything with their magic powers, you should still be able to get why that's gonna make people nervous.

Not a lot, but I know a few. I knew my mom and she told me about our people. They weren't bad and mom was great. [ Then again she could have secretly been evil and Traci would still say she was great. ] No, I get the power being scary. I...sometimes it scares me if you wanna know a secret. But a lot of the people I know just want to be accepted not do terribly evil things.

[ He exhales slowly. ]

Well, even people who do terribly evil things don't think of 'em as terribly evil. Right?

Some of them do. Some of them don't. Usually it's pretty easy for someone to tell if someone else is doing terribly evil things though.

It sure is a hell of a lot easier for 'em to if they wanted. I wouldn't waste having magic on doing good, at least. [ He pauses. ] Not evil either, though.

If you wouldn't waste it on good or evil what would you do with it?
