[a text post from Jonathan Joestar? this is truly a rare sight. but the subject that he's about to broach is kind of super embarrassing, and he doubts he'd be able to even compose the message, let alone post it, if anyone could hear or see him.

he's been staring at his communicator for an hour before hitting send as it is, struggling internally as to whether this is absolutely necessary. but in the end he had to acknowledge that he didn't know what to do on his own, nor did he have a friend with this sort of experience; there really was no way around it. drat.]

I'm sorry to trouble the entire network with such a trivial matter, but I'm afraid that I really don't have anyone else to ask. Perhaps it's for the best - uninvolved parties often give the best insight, after all.

I would be very grateful if someone could advise me on navigating a rather difficult situation of a...romantic nature. There are other things involved (a great number, actually) that have made it rather overcomplicated, so I'm afraid it may take some effort to unravel.

I don't have much recompense to offer aside from owing you a large favor, but I'd be glad to take on that debt if someone is willing to give their time. It's something I need an answer to rather promptly, so I'll take all the help I'm offered.

That said, if you aren't particularly skilled in that sort of thing but are willing to engage in idle chatter for a little while...I'd appreciate that as well.

I think I could do with some harmless conversation just now. How have you been lately, Miss Sabriel?

Well, aside from the incident with Melkor and my assignment as his probation officer, I've been fine.

Although the climate in Heropa is starting to be a little too much.

I suppose it has begun to creep into overwhelming territory, hasn't it. We never really had much weather like this in England, so I must say I've been enjoying it.

Well, it's nice in small doses. [One downside of being a necromancer- it's impossible to get a tan. Sabriel has to cover up or use lots and lots of sunscreen if she wants to avoid getting burned.]

I take most of those doses at the seaside, so perhaps I'm biased.

I live in Heropa, so it's difficult to avoid.

So do I! But I'm used to ignoring things that make me uncomfortable.

I try to, but my skin... simply doesn't tan, no matter what I do- it just burns.

You sound like my brother. [even before the vampire thing] He'd always be so irritable whenever we went on holiday somewhere sunny.

You have a brother? What's he like?

Rather monstrous, I'm afraid. [but his voice seems to grow all the fonder, oddly enough, even as he condemns Dio like that.] But we love each other all the same, so I'm grateful for that.

He can't be that bad, then. [Oh Sabriel- he really really can.]

Ah, well, I think we understand each other better than anyone else ever could. It's different with other people.

That's good. Family... should be close. Sometimes, you see a side of them that other people don't. [And sometimes, other people see a side of them that you don't.]

That side is often rather vulnerable as well; it's a privilege to be allowed that.

[not just with Dio, but his entire family. to see some of his gruffer descendents soften around him...it warms his heart.]

I know. I didn't really understand that at first, but after speaking with more people who know my father... Well, some things have become more clear.

It's strange how we spend most of our lives getting to know the people we love most.

[strange...and a bit heartening. there would always be something new to discover about the people you loved.]
