[When the audio feed initializes, there isn't a sound right away, and then there's a gentle clearing of the throat before Thane actually speaks.]

In my time here, I have noticed something about humanity. You have hundreds of days commemorating events: birthdays, memorial days, celebrations of the births of dead leaders.

[He pauses for a moment. Thane doesn't usually address this many people at one time.]

I have seen several shops advertising that Sunday, the 21st of this month, is Father's Day here. Do your worlds celebrate Father's Day also?

[Another pause, and when he speaks again, there's a note of nestalgia in his voice.]

If so, and you are a father, I would like to wish you a happy Father's Day. [He thinks that's the proper sentiment.] One father to another.

I'm sure he'll... be alright? I mean, time away right now at least means nothing, we'll go back, right? Then you won't have to miss him at all.

As...far as I know? From what people who've gone home have said, when you go back, you just keep going like this place didn't happen at all.

Do you know many people who've been Ported out and returned?

A few, yeah. There haven't been a lot. Most people just...leave. Like EDI did.

But some come back pretty quickly.

Do they often come back changed?

You mean where they experienced more?

Yeah, sometimes.

How fascinating. I wonder what reason there is behind it.

No idea, honestly. I mean, they bring us here, and make us stay, and then all of the sudden we're gone again, and then back?

It doesn't make any sense whatsoever.

There must be some underlying reason.

Maybe? They haven't said anything about it, or given us any indication one way or the other, or what does it, or... or anything?

True, but there are many things we don't know, or they aren't saying.

That's fair enough, and I don't know if we'll ever know those things, honestly. There are just some things that are left in the air, you know? They aren't exactly going to share things when is, but... humans were left out of a lot of things, and so we had to figure out a lot for ourselves, back home.

Maybe we need to do the same thing here.

Are you suggesting we story cooperating with them and establish our own government? We already have representation.

Not our own government, no. I just feel like...we need to be proactive. Figure things out for ourselves.

Has anyone done the work for us? This is just -- just another day.

Normal, but we'll figure it out eventually. If we can figure out thousands of years old Prothean technology, and find hidden messages, we can do this.

I've never translated Prothean technology, and if my sources are correct, Shepard inherited a cipher. This won't be an easy task, Kaidan.

Hell, if it were easy, it would've been done by now.

Some things are easy once they're attempted, and it's the attempting that's the hard part.
