It's been a while, but I suppose I'm curious—and it's hard to do much for curiosity, once it's born, is there? Some feelings can't be snuffed out, once they exist, no matter how much you might wish for it.

[ The voice is that of a young woman, somewhere between late teens and early twenties, lower-middle pitch and a steady cadence. A little tired, perhaps a little bored, but not irritably so. ]

Darkness, Earth, Water, Light, Wind, or Flame.

Choose one, please. But, before you do, know that there's no right answer, or wrong answer, and there's no moral component to any of them. "Light" doesn't mean good; "darkness" doesn't mean evil. Only whichever suits you. Something a little trivial, perhaps, but I'd like to hear your answers.

[ well, kanaya can't entirely set herself apart in terms of taste, not when both she and eridan have only had one kismesis in their lives, and it was the same girl. kanaya's type is literally the worst. ]

Where do I start? She's pushy, irreverent, completely without tact, and I'm reasonably certain she has designs on being a criminal. Add on top of that she's apparently invulnerable, and it's simply adding insult to injury!

Well, invulnerability might be the only way she could withstand a physical altercation with you, but I would hope that sort of fruitlessness to doing injury would take some of the satisfaction out of slamming her head against the pavement.

I stopped adopting cats when my last stray began killing people. [ She just... got a bouquet of live kittens from Eridan in a oneupsman game of gift-giving, which is totally different. ] Between the cats and the people, that's too much blood to get out of the carpet.

[ kanaya has never once by her own initiative taken ownership of a cat, she just has the abandoned ones dumped on her doorstep by people who leave, especially roommates. they're inescapable and inexplicable. ]

Well, that one must have been from a bad litter. I imagine it would put anyone off of the practice.

This is why you can't trust ImPorts, honestly. More of us come from 'bad litters' than good.

Not that I exactly disagree, but. I'm not sure either of us could be excluded from that majority.

The us wasn't specific! In that construction, it would have referred more to the whole than the distinction. But no, you didn't necessarily say that. But the fact was left vague enough that I thought it should be pointed out.

I suppose that's fair.

But for the future, if you ever catch me disparaging imPorts, I usually don't make exceptions or exclusions for anyone. The same goes for humans.

I don't suppose you'd have any room to. No one has had a longer claim on the title than you have, after all.
