It's been a while, but I suppose I'm curious—and it's hard to do much for curiosity, once it's born, is there? Some feelings can't be snuffed out, once they exist, no matter how much you might wish for it.

[ The voice is that of a young woman, somewhere between late teens and early twenties, lower-middle pitch and a steady cadence. A little tired, perhaps a little bored, but not irritably so. ]

Darkness, Earth, Water, Light, Wind, or Flame.

Choose one, please. But, before you do, know that there's no right answer, or wrong answer, and there's no moral component to any of them. "Light" doesn't mean good; "darkness" doesn't mean evil. Only whichever suits you. Something a little trivial, perhaps, but I'd like to hear your answers.

They mean what they mean—and that always varies by the person.

It depends on the association.

As for that, they're relatively universal. I don't often have to explain what a flame is or what darkness looks like.

Choosing based on abilities isn't uncommon, but please don't consider it strictly necessary, if others suit as well.

But about darkness, you're not wrong. Many take comfort in it.

I don't have a very poetic reason for it — it's an important every day presence. Although I am curious as to why pose the question at all. Even idle curiosity has reason behind it.

It's nothing terribly interesting, I'm afraid. I was awake, and bored, and curious, that's all.

If there's no light and good correlation... Darkness obscures, and I'm pretty good at that. And it doesn't really have a fixed shape, unlike some of the others, and it gives way pretty easily to the light, and there's a certain amount of comfort in all of that.

I think it's kind of unfair when flame can produce light. And earth has a tendency to be dark when you're in it.

Light, though, since you're saying we just have to pick one. [ Partially because lightning and partially because he just likes things most people associate with light. ] Sometimes people I know tell me I light up places. They might not be here but I care about them enough to feel like any other answer's wrong.
