Hello.
[The voice that comes over the feed is distinctly English, and despite her mood, Peggy is polite. She wasn't going to reveal her status as an agent or indeed the SSR because Peggy didn't know who was listening.]
My name is Margaret Carter and like some of you, I am a recent arrival. It hasn't been easy, trying to adjust to my new circumstances and- [there's a pause.] - abilities. After reading the file I was given and speaking to others, I'm no closer to getting to the truth of this place and whom or what is behind it; if anyone has any more information or even a theory, please share. The more I know the better prepared I am for what's to come.
[Bringing people from different universes, both good and bad, and bestowing incredible powers upon them is a recipe for disaster in her mind. Already, Peggy has heard worrying details about the Swear in ceremonies.]
But I do know one thing for certain. I have no desire to stay here and I am determined to try to get everyone who wants to go home back to where they belong.
[There's a fire in her tone, like something has awoken inside of her and came rushing to the surface.]
You have my word.

[ He seems deeply unsure about this, since a) internet and b) reading. Neither of which are things he's good at. ]

What was that about nets? Sorry, I need clarification.

I do hope you manage, for no one has yet, and I would be glad to see those who have important matters at home returned to them.

[ Such a polite young woman.]
It's encouraging to see someone who shares my view on this. I will do my best to achieve what I've set out to do.

There are a lot of people working on getting us home. The MirrorNet - I think you can access past information - probably has information on what everyone's found out.
Oh, I'm Winry Rockbell. It's nice to meet you, Miss Carter.
[Audio]
[So many helpful people so far. It's encouraging to say the least.]
Lovely to meet you, Miss Rockwell. Though I'd hardly call it the most ideal place to meet someone in.

Welcome to this world, Ms. Carter. My name is Owen Burnett. As for the truth of this place, everybody has their own theory. The truth of the matter, however, is that for the moment, we have no way to return home of our own volition.
voice;
I appreciate your reply, Mr. Burnett. But I was rather hoping that the news would be more positive in terms of being able to bring people home where they belong.

All due respect, ma'am, but everything I've heard so far points to that being impossible.
[audio]
To quote a proverb - 'To believe a thing impossible is to make it so.' I won't let it stop me from trying.
[There's a pause.]
Although, you're not the first person to share that sentiment.

[That's more complicated than she'd like to explain, but she assumes Peggy will learn about them sooner than later.]
If you have any questions about the quest to bust us all out, I think I can answer. Though my information is still in the process of being updated. I had a one month reprieve from here.

Pardon me for saying this, but how can I trust that you're not lying to me? Claiming that you know my colleagues and that they mentioned my name.
[Suffice to say, Peggy is suspicious. Too much going on back home and mistrust was always around.]
Then I'll decide if your information is worth knowing.

Surely there is more to be uncovered. People simply haven't looked hard enough, which is why they're stuck here.

He wouldn't believe it if he hadn't already had to adjust to a Bucky he didn't really know, and many other people who sort of but didn't really know him. Multiverses were something he had to accept from the get-go, so a Peggy Carter that isn't in her nineties, isn't bed-ridden and isn't crippled by dementia isn't even a real stretch. So, no matter how strange it may be, he knows this is some version of the woman he'd fallen in love with -- but if she knows him, or is anything like the person from his universe, is anyone's guess.
God, this place just can't stop yanking his chain, can it?
After taking a moment to collect himself, Steve tries to think of what to say -- and comes up blank. What does he say? He rubs his hand against the lower half of his face in frustration before giving up. There's no easy way to go about this, but nothing's going to happen if he doesn't say something. Finally he turns the camera on, looking down into the screen with eyes that are too much a jumble of mixed feelings to make proper sense of. ]
Hi, Peggy.
[ One step at a time, Rogers. That's the best you can do. ]
video;
There's another possibility that Peggy doesn't wish to admit to. This could be some form of trick - an illusion brought upon by the government here or even someone from home who was capable of such a thing. She can't accept that he was real and speaking to her, when their last conversation was cut short when the plane crashed into the ocean and he was never heard from again. Even after an extensive search conducted by Stark and his team. ]
Steve.
[ Her expression is as neutral as Peggy can make it, hiding any confused emotions beneath that veneer of calm. She let him go. Began the process of healing so she could move on. And yet here he was. ]
Hi.
[ Nope. She's got nothing at the moment. Give it time. ]

audio;
Oh meiosis, but there does seem to be a lot of us new arrivals, doesn't there? From all over too, do you suppose that there's some kind of pattern to it? I haven't found one yet, but I suppose I haven't really been looking very hard yet, and you sound like someone who'd just look harder than most people, you know how you can get a sense of that from the way people talk. Not that I go about making snap judgments about people just because of something they've said, except for those times when you really can't help it, like if someone says something that's really awful and even if they apologize later, you can never really get it out of your head. Not that anything you've said had been awful, it's more of just a hypothetical.
audio;
According to some, there is no real pattern to it. People come and go, from other worlds and universes. I have more to learn I think and you're right, I do plan to go that one step further if I can.
[ She takes a moment, allowing her brain to process the rest of Haen's words. ]
I'd be lying if I said I haven't made any snap judgements in my lifetime. I think it's something that can't be helped at the best of times.
But feel free to tell me if anything I've said is awful. I'm willing to take constructive criticism and feedback. This world is new to me and I don't know anyone.

[ ...more or less. She said it with nicer words, and a better accent.
She seems sincere, and d'Artagnan can appreciate that. Even if he is about to disappoint her. ]
It's not so easy. Believe me, many of us are determined to leave, but it's not so easy. The porter sends people out and brings them in without warning. They don't always remember what's happened while they've been gone, and sometimes they never come back at all.
Others have been here for years. The boy, Thomas, sent me a file with all that he's learned. It helped, but even there, you won't find the answers you want.
video
Good thing I like a challenge.
[ She puts on a brave face, a small smile to go along with her words. ]
Though I do appreciate you being upfront instead of sugarcoating it. [As some of her colleagues knew already, Peggy did not like to be coddled. ]
Is there any way that you could send me this file that Thomas gave to you? I'm still trying to work out the functions of this device properly.

What I mean is, what counts as a theory and what counts as crazy talk.
Cause I've been there for both.

The crazy talk could still be useful in helping me to shape ideas about where I am and how it works.
It's at your discretion of course.
