Im one of those people who comes from a world where there's superheroes and powers and stuff. weve got our cranes but back home we're not all kidnapped in the one place with the nanites or whatever.

The only thing I miss is my pirate ship and my family. [Because living in a cave in an old pirate ship? Awesome. Best choice for homeless kid.]

I had a home in that I had a shelter and some friends, but I never had a place this big before.

And yeah. My world has lots of super powers too. Paragon City's the biggest, but they got a huge crime rate too. And super crimes.

Aliens, zombies, Spider themed crime syndicate etcetcetc

Yeah, there was an old pirate ship in this cave, and that's where I lived. Pretty great for living in a jungle.

Things even out sometimes. For all the things I lost, I wasn't brainwashed into being a super villain myself. Hows that for luck?

i think there's things that are similar about them. aliens, metas, cities that just scream crime.

It's a highly stressful situation. It's only natural to realise that not everyone has the best means to express their distress. And if you're the kind of person to create fear gas, then it's not going to end well.

I don't think so. You're comparing it to medical research. It's not. Inciting fear is something that is so basic that any 'research' into it is fairly mute unless you're the type of person who enjoys inflicting it and the power that comes from being the person inflicting it. 

Although, I suppose your use of the word 'civilians' is certainly interesting. Do you believe it would have been a better use of it, if he had used it against government or military targets?

My point is that what was done wasn't merely a 'lunatic freak' but a frightened man who happens to believe that the logical thing for him to do was to incite fear. That makes him a terrorist, but pretending that he's unusual or not sane is absolving him of responsibility.

I'm not comparing it to medical research though. Just because you have the know how to make something, doesn't mean you should actually y'know...make it. Or use it. Especially if you know what it can do. I believe that something like that, shouldn't be used at all. On civilians, imports, government or enemies of governments. Crane is a psycho, I'm not absolving him of anything. He's responsible, he's an evil sick person and he has screws loose. Believe me, after what he did, there is no way I'm saying he's not. To either being insane or responsible.

You 'shouldn't' make a fear gas. Full stop. Especially if you know what it can do.

You're suggesting that he has a mental defect. That this mental defect has both the element of diminishing his responsibility, psychopaths being deficient in empathy, and neatly dividing you from him. 

The fact that you are different from him is a decision to be different, not evidence that your brain works better than his.

It's interesting you'd rather come to the conclusion that I'm just trying to annoy you rather than, what I'm actually doing, which is asking you to think about what you say and what they mean might be more involved than simply declaring someone 'psycho' and leaving it at that.

Because he's not just a murderer, he's a terrorist. In fact, terror seems to be his raison d'être. Your wording plays into how people fear the mentally ill. Not to mention throwing them under the bus. 

This is exactly what I mean. You hold a position of power. Your words may not make a great deal of difference to the few who read this post, but you're a figure who can hold the attention of not a small number of natives. Words may be the most insidious weapon you have.

I don't think you hurting anyone accidentally is anything like the other stuff you mentioned. I mean, not that you shouldn't apologize if you feel like you need to.
