Okay. I think I finally have to give in and admit it. I am really bored with my assigned job, and they don't even notice when I don't come in. I was gone for a week and I got paid like I was there, and no one said a thing. Clearly I am underappreciated in the graphic tee design world.

So I'm curious: who else has left their assigned jobs? What do you do now? What did you do for work back home? Talk jobs to me, guys.

Yeah. I think the only reason they assign us jobs in the first place is because they think they're funny.

I used to be a waiter at a café, back home. And when i got here I was assigned a book clerk job. [ and then kaneki lost his job, got new ones, lost them again. No need to mention that. ] And recently I started working at a café again.Full cycle.

I was lucky, though. I did like my jobs.

I liked mine at first, but there's only so much time I can waste making novelty t-shirts instead of using my engineering degree.

I quit after a few months by letting them know I was going to be taking college courses instead.

I don't really need to be taking college courses, but it beats working at the Parks and Rec department.

I worked at one of those magazine shop stands. I only left for going to school and my dad showing up here.

I worked for the FBI back home! Among other things. Now I mostly throw water balloons at kids, which isn't the most stimulating, but it is easy.

I interviewed at StarkTech and took a job here about two months after I arrived. Before that I was working for a mechanic working on the hover cars.

I talked to Stark when I first got here, but I wasn't really seriously thinking about taking an engineering job. I was pretty okay with just doing my own thing on the side until now.

Uh, back home I worked at my dad's garage, and here... I work at a garage. [He grins at Cisco, aware of how boring that sounds.] The government assigned me something different in-between, but I was making peanuts, so I switched it over. It's pretty easy finding a new job, though.

I was a part-time chem lab assistant when I first got here; I sent Mr. Stark in an email, he brought me in for an interview. It was totally painless. He pays pretty well and he's a scientist too, so he's down with taking on projects, and he gives me as many hours as he can legally until I turn eighteen. It's a great gig.

I have had many jobs. [Sort of... It's clone humor. In between speaking, she's eating handfuls of some sugary breakfast cereal. She has a very noticeable Ukrainian accent.] The last one, I quit. Now I am going to be leader for young girls and teach them survival.

I was supposed to be an ACT prep instructor, but after I went and found out what it was, I left and never went back! I never finished junior high in Japan so I don't know why they thought I could prep high school students for college test things.

Now I just take classes and get money from busking!

Over the past few years, I've been a fashion editor for a magazine, a waitress, a shopgirl for just the holidays, a bartender, an accountant, an EMT, and now a receptionist for a tech firm. But always a seamstress. Only one of those was actually assigned, but circumstances forced me to leave it, regrettably.

What sort of work are you looking for?

Anyway, I'm a private delivery company now. I mean, I had a partner, but he went home, so it's just me. And... I didn't have a job at home. I mean, I hadn't been home long enough to even get one, and I was leaving again, so...
