Apparently at one point in time, one of the Greek goddesses of Fate known as Lachesis was once in the Porters that bring people in. She was also the one who intervened when some version of this world ended and her sister Atropos appeared. I don't have a lot of details beyond that. Whatever is in there now, is definitely aware, not her, and doesn't want to be bothered.
