[Roxas' expression is fairly cross today and he's surrounded by papers, a notebook and a couple of textbooks, but one of them is closed with more papers sticking out of it, as though it's just been slammed shut unceremoniously. Because it has.]

You know, I tried to follow the rules and do school the way they want us to here, because that's the normal thing to do and they gave me a place to live and all, but I'm done

[He tosses down a pencil.]

It's stupid. They said I missed too many days last spring, so I had to do a grade over. But I'm not learning anything new! It's just the same stuff! They want us to come be heroes but then we can't decide for ourselves where to be or what's worth learning if they don't think we're old enough? I quit.

[Roxas Nolastname, high school dropout.]

I guess I might need a second job now. Anyone hiring?

Oh, and uh, hi, new people. This world is all right aside from the school stuff. Hopefully most of you won't have to bother with it.

Haha. I got him at this swear-in contest where you had to pick up a pig. I... mostly I did it for the challenge, but then I realized that the pig was the prize? So he lives in my yard.

Must have been a strange contest if that's what you get for winning. What does it eat?

They said it was a sort of tradition, or something. And... pretty much everything. He likes my scraps, but I have storebought food for him, too.

I think I'll stick to a cat if I ever want a pet. Sounds simpler. And...smaller.

Well, I've got one of those too. [He leans over, scoops something up off camera, and lifts Atoli into the shot.] I wasn't intending on keeping him at first, but... I don't know. I led him around on a leash for the whole swear-in, so he kinda grew on me.

Don't you worry about what'll happen to them if you just—go away all of a sudden?

You know. Like Sora did.

[He's unsure what to say to this at first, because Roxas is right. After a moment, though, he shakes his head.]

No. I feel like... I can probably trust one of my friends here to collect them and do what's right for them, whether they keep them or let someone else adopt them. Even Kang doesn't like them, but I think he'd bring them somewhere they'd be taken care of.

[He didn't know whether Roxas meant the animals or the people, and now that he's clarified it he feels a little stupid for not picking that up.]

[He waits for Riku to say something more, but when he doesn't....uh, okay. Huh.]

Don't feed them bacon. That would be pretty messed up.

[This makes him laugh, though, and he shakes his head.]

I'm not quite that cruel. Though he does like roast beef.

Don't get a cow for your next pet, then.

I think I'd give Kang an aneurysm, so no.

Yeah. Honestly, I don't think I could handle more than two pets anyway. Kind of got a lot of irons in the fire.

Even here? I would have thought you could relax for once.

Well, it's fairly normal stuff, so I don't mind so much. Bart left, so I've picked up his slack, and I teach swimming at the training place in Nonah. And then I try to hang out with Minato fairly frequently, even though he has this ridiculous social schedule. I go to the beach to work out like three times a week, too. [That's the nice thing about Heropa for him, is the beach is right there. And even though it's November, it hasn't gotten any colder at all there.]
