Capsule 006 ð (Video) [Locked from Tetsuo]
[It's late at night, well past 11pm when the feed clicks on. At first it doesn't look like anything, a bunch of blackness with one bright light in the distance. It looks like a lamppost...or what's left of one. It seems to have been literally broken in half by impact alone, the metal completely snapped instead of bent, the upper half lying on the sidewalk and facing up. Sparks fly from the base of it, the cord obviously cut there when it was snapped. Whatever hit it...well, it had to be going at an incredible speed.
But the feed turns, towards a closer, brighter lamppost that seems to be intact, Kaneda sitting in front of it on the sidewalk.
Well, you look like you've seen better days, buddy.
He doesn't say anything at first, more so trying to catch his breath as a hand reaches up to his head. Face contorting into a wince as his fingers rake through his hair. When his gloved hand comes out, he looks at it as if he just found a gross bug.
Blood. Even better.]
Dammit.
[Whatever mirth he had in his voice earlier that night from the comm is gone, and the glitter in his eyes is lost. Oh yeah, he was recording, wasn't he. Those eyes turn towards the screen, away from the broken lamppost that he was seemingly fixated on. His voice is low, and some of his words are a little slurred as he tries to make a coherent sentence.]
Don't care who it is, but I need a healer. Or a way back.
[He's not too far from the house, but walking is just not happening.]

I use it if I need to. This was one of those times.
[He huffs quietly at the question, though, because the answer is a solid 'yes'.]
Mm. It's... easier on me than it would be on someone else. I don't think I would lose my heart, whether I stayed there too long or not. But the atmosphere in there is... not pleasant.
no subject
Aw, I'm flattered.
[And there's that smile--the shitty ass smile that only just started showing now.]
Just don't make a huge habit, alright? I can hold off for a Porter.
[There, that's Kaneda's I-care-about-you moment. He looks down at his feet, as if making sure they're taking the steps he's supposed to.]
no subject
Aw, I didn't know you cared.
[He did, but it's fun to tease anyway.]
no subject
It's only been a few minutes, Kaneda, really.]
What can I say? I've got a big heart, or something.
[You shithead.]
no subject
Hah. Right, right. I don't think they come in sizes, though.
[Maybe he's wrong. But whatever. They come up to the front steps of the house, and Riku raises a brow at them.]
What do you want to do? Just inside? I'll bring you to your room if you want.
no subject
It's an expression, stupid.
[He smiles, though, leaning on him more as they reach the steps, looking back up at the door that he'd only just walked through a little while ago.]
Room's good. Capsule's still in there with the door closed.
no subject
After a moment of grinning to himself he looks up at the door too, then back to Kaneda, smile fading into concerned curiosity.]
Are you gonna be able to do it?
no subject
They're just stairs.
no subject
Well, yeah. Tell me if you need a break, then.
no subject
A few more steps and he's up the stairs, leaning on the doorknob as he turns it, the rest of the house dark. He could turn the light on, but honestly, it's easier on the eyes right now like this.]
...You want tea?
no subject
Why are you thinking about tea right now?
no subject
[It's that simple, really. The house is quiet, with the exception of Capsule scratching at the door to Kaneda's room.
As if he knew Kaneda had walked in.]
no subject
[He lets out a little huff of amusement, then nods. They've come in further into the house now, and as they move into the kitchen, Riku reaches to haul out a chair.]
Okay. I'll get Capsule in a second, so sit down.
no subject
..
And then speaks up.]
An ice pack too.
no subject
[He steps away, clicks the kettle on, and then digs in the freezer. The first thing he finds is a bag of french fries, and he tosses that onto the table, in front of Kaneda's chair. He'll get a proper one after he gets Capsule.
He heads for Kaneda's room next, opening the door with a little click and peeking inside for the puppy.]
C'mon, bud.
no subject
Ah, sweet relief.
The closer Riku's footsteps get to the door, there's a soft scratching at the door, and when he turns the knob to open, the scuttling of little puppy feet cause him to dash out, around Riku's legs in 'thank you', before making a run for the kitchen.
He knew.]
no subject
You want me to find like a real ice pack...? Or are fries okay?
no subject
This works. I don't even remember getting these.
[His one free hand reaches down, though, letting Capsule lick it as he runs it along his head and to the back of those ears to scritch. Kaneda's voice softens up immediately, speaking in a soft whisper.]
Hey buddy...sorry about that. [And then to Riku.]
Tea's in the top cabinet.
no subject
[He lets Kaneda greet his dog, moving to figure out the 'top cabinet'. After a moment he's got it, though, and he pulls down the box, setting it down on the counter. It's still a few minutes until the water finishes boiling, so he sits down opposite. When he does he realizes he's still a little nauseated -- he'd managed to shove it down, was all. He takes a slower, deep breath, then looks back up at Kaneda.]
Let me know when they start to not work.
no subject
How much of a mess do I look?
[A smile cracks on his face as he looks at Riku, unable to really hide that good mood anymore. Sure, this was a shitty situation, but they happened. And someone came to help him when he needed it. Riku was good at that.]
no subject
You want me to be honest, or nice?
[He smiles quietly, turning his head to watch the kettle. It has a see-through side, and he can see the water line starting to be disturbed.]
I don't think I can be both.
no subject
Honest.
[Because he knows he looks like shit, the bag of potatoes on his face proves that.
...But the way Riku phrases that...it's a little reminiscent. Yamagata would have said the same exact thing.]
no subject
[The water's rumbling now and he stands so he can dig around for mugs. He's unaware of the comparison Kaneda is drawing, but he'd be curious if he knew -- he doesn't know much about Kaneda's gang besides Tetsuo, after all.
Riku drops a teabag into each mug, facing Kaneda again so he can lean on the counter.]
I have faith you'll stop looking like crap in a day or so, though. Maybe once that egg disappears.
wow i thought i replied to this
But he can smell that tea from here, and it's hard not to smile.]
Give me two days tops. I'll be up and about.
<3
Fair. Let me know if you need another round of healing in the meantime. I think I've built up enough energy again.
[His magic drained itself completely with that spell, but it does seep back slowly as he doesn't use it, and it's almost to full capacity again, he thinks. Maybe after his tea -- those sorts of things usually help.]
