You know we could, easily. Just go to Russia, steal all their nukes and chuck em' into space, then attack them.

They got no right to be doin' what they're doin' and they did throw the first punch.

So what's gonna happen? We gotta sit back on our laurels and do nothing?

Pretty clear that the porter is capable of it, unless people are being kidnapped, experimented on and given false memories of being home. Totes a possibility here.

I know what you're saying. In my world, everything fell to shit, and people resorted to killing people just because they had to survive, or they wanted to, or both.

If we had our own place and another group of people did this to our own, it's perfectly reasonable to go out and kill every last one of them so we won't face that danger again. I can get behind that.

But we don't have our own place, we don't have that option. We don't even know they can fix that damn Porter.

We focus on keeping everyone here and safe. That's the plan.

Attacking them and stopping them keeps us safe.

We don't even know what their plan is. If they even have a plan.

Look, we've got the thing that helped them kidnap the first round. I call that a victory for us. Let's enjoy it while it lasts, okay?

But how is having it gonna help?

It's gonna help because as long as we have it, the Russians don't.

The Russians see us as American property, as their weapons. If we attack, they will assume we have the backing of our host country, and they will retaliate. Natives, who are not responsible, will die.

Then, the Americans will retaliate. It will become a vicious cycle of hatred.

We can't let our anger get the best of us. We have to try to end this before it escalates further.

Yeah? Well how do you propose we end it? Cos' I propose we take out their nukes so they lose their edge. Then what are they gonna do? Nothin. That's what this whole stupid war was about, right? Nukes?

It's not about nuclear weapons. It's about power and superiority. Taking their weapons will only make the Russians more defensive and more desperate.

The only way to end this is to convince the Americans and the Russians to stop their adolescent posturing.

It would be better to separate ourselves from them entirely in as peacefully a manner as possible. Yes, we have abilities the natives can only dream of. However, we are still a small community and they still hold power over us.

And I hate that. That they have power over us. They're not exactly doing us any favors by not fixing the porters and sending us home.

Ignoring it is not an option, but we also do not need to make the situation worse. We have to be smart about this.

Look, I can only do one thing really well and that's fight, and survive fights. So what do you think my first instinct is?

It's to find someone and bring them down.

Read a history book, kid. Listen to Kang. Watch Wargames--If the Russians have nukes, they can probably make more nukes, and besides: as soon as you go over there to take ONE nuke, the rest of those silos will turn their keys and fucking BOOM. The world is shit. There's no winning global thermonuclear war, ok.

Even if we COULD take all their nukes, they still have other means to retaliate. The Russians aren't a superpower because they own a couple nuclear warheads. PLUS! War creates resentment, which is like 99% of America's lasting political problems.

All the history books here are fake, y'know. I don't care if they resent the USA. That's their problem.

And...You know what? Maybe you're right and I'm being stupid. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do something.

If they resent the USA, and we're living in the USA, we're in the same boat AS the USA. The US political situation nationally and internationally is OUR problem so long as we're living here and so long as they continue to be a major world power. So the SHIT they stir up is the shit we're stuck sitting in, too, and like Kang said, you act out, it will be viewed as a US action. We're in the same boat, if you like that analogy better, kid, so don't make it sink.

And you should care if they resent the US. Resentment breeds more conflict, and anger, and hate and all those other things that eventually amount to someone building up enough influence over there--whether it's the government or some faction leader--to bring the war to the US soil and then what are you going to do? Innocent civilians get killed when that happens and some of those people might even be imPorts.

I am all for doing something, okay, but don't be stupid. I don't know what you came from, but I came from a war that lasted twelve years. Twelve FUCKING years. I do NOT want to enter into another war just because some hothead is upset that we spent 9 days in squalor on a submarine and are getting to play the part of political pawns in the Cold War.

We're pawns. We're being used. These are the two major powers--two Alphas squaring off because they refuse to go to their separate corners and live in peace. The US wants our power, Russia wants our power. Neither wants the other to HAVE us if THEY can't. It could very well come down to 'If I can't, then no one can' and someone trying to destroy us, which, not to scare you, is actually probably possible with the nanites. Let's be real, you put self-detonation option on a weapon so no one can get its secrets or use it against you. We're weapons. I'm sure the US has a contingency plan to deal with us if they can't get us back from the Russians.

And I'm completely blaming you if you rally someone up to go fight Russia and it comes back to bite us all in the ass. It doesn't matter who started the war; do NOT provoke it further.
