[For long moments, Ororo simply stood outside, on House #015's lawn. She took a look around the rooms, sure, and she'd spent some time looking through the file that she'd been given earlier. But ultimately there was something about the house that unsettled her. It didn't feel very lived in, and though it was spacious enough, it felt too small. A little like the walls were closing in on her. So she'd escaped to the front yard for some air, and to gather her thoughts and consider her options.

She wasn't a stranger to being pulled into new worlds. It wasn't something that happened often, but it had happened before, so she wasn't too troubled about that. No, what did trouble her was everything that she'd left behind: the school, the students, her team, her family... For her to be pulled away from all of them, at a time like this, left her frustrated and more than a little annoyed. Outwardly she remained calm, but it was harder to keep the sky from reacting to her building temper. Lightning flashed in an otherwise clear sky, and Ororo couldn't be bothered to do more than frown idly up at the clouds. How fortunate, she thought, that she didn't have to worry about upsetting weathermen in this world.

Eventually, she finally takes action. If this were like any other time she'd visited other dimensions, it stood to reason that perhaps one or two of her teammates were around here. It was just a matter of finding them. She switches on the communicator and, after a beat of hesitation, decides on something short and to the point and, hopefully, wouldn't give too much away about her.]

Good afternoon, all. If you have heard of, or know of the X-Men, I would greatly appreciate it if you would please contact me. Thank you.

[ There. Formal, polite, and straight to the point. But... well, not very friendly. Ororo decides to tack something else on, in a much warmer tone of voice: ]

That being said... My name is Storm, and I am newly arrived. Our handlers have been kind enough to fill me in on the situation, but I must admit that it is still a bit much to take in. Would it be too much to ask for some clarification on the information that we have been spoonfed?

[He stretched his arms over his head, frowning a bit when he was called 'sir'. Sure, he was pretty old, but he still liked to act like he was younger.]

I don't really view it as an issue. My motto is 'lazy justice', after all.

If it comes that my involvement is necessary, I won't mind fighting as long as it's for the right seasons. Since I'm not officially an Admiral here, I'll have to decide whether that necessity is justified myself rather than trust the higher-ups completely.

[Ororo tries to be polite when she can, that's all! She'd point this out, but one of her eyebrows lifts when he continues speaking.]

My apologies; I did not mean for it to sound as though it was an issue. Especially when I did not have all the details. ... I do agree with you; so long as it is for the right reasons, I do not mind the idea for fighting for them. And that it is largely up to us to decide whether or not we can trust the reasons given to us here.

[... That still doesn't explain why he asked her out despite literally meeting her a second ago though, which kind of boggles her a bit.]

Ahhh? [At that, Kuzan was confused. He didn't really realize the impact of his dull, depressed tone could have on a conversation. Really, he was feeling pretty upbeat because he was interested in cars after arriving there. He had ambitions, for once!]

I'm not bummed out or anything. It's my job to uphold Justice, regardless. If these guys cooperate with my line of Justice, then I'll be fine with it. If it turns out they're corrupt and need to be taken down instead, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one deciding to take them down.

[Ororo chuckles. Just from who she's met here so far, she can assure him that he definitely wouldn't be alone in that. But that wasn't something she'd mention on an unsecure network, so.]

That is a noble perspective to have; it sounds like you've had little trouble adjusting to this world and its demands of us so far. Have you been here long, admiral? [She knows he says he isn't one here, technically, but he gave a title. So she's going to use it!]

[One brow went up. He imagined Garp laughing in this woman's face at the idea of calling him 'noble'. Even Kuzan couldn't exactly agree with that. He didn't exactly act the part.]

I've been here a day. Why, is it supposed to be difficult to decide?

[He also lacked a sense of perspective.]

I assumed it might be difficult. They are asking quite a bit of us, so suddenly. [She keeps her voice thoughtful. But honestly, the way they were running things here was almost exactly what they stood against, back home. It was hard to swallow.]

Ahhh. I guess that'd turn away people.

[He was just too used to being deployed and made useful from time to time that an argument seemed pointless to him.]

Whatever. I can cover the slack if people don't want to do it.
