[ She's been fairly quiet on the network after her conversation with the other Eobard. And fairly scarce in and around Heropa. There's still things she's processing from the world turning upside down last month. And things that she's avoiding. ]

What do you do when you start to feel homesick? Have you felt homesick while here? I can't imagine anyone hasn't, but stranger things have happened. None of us can choose to go home, and it's not like I can go visit this world's version of my home because it doesn't seem to exist here.

Probably better that we don't visit familiar cities like that. What have you found in your city that helps with feeling homesick?

There's a certain subway train here that sounds almost like the R train I used to take home from campus a lot. It doesn't bring me anywhere great here, but sometimes I hop on just to shut my eyes and ride for a bit.
And I kind of lucked out because they gave me a job at the library here, and I used to spend waaaay too much time at the library at home, too. It looks veryvery different than the Gotham library but whatever.

The train thing, that's something I never thought of before. Granted, I only trains I took were to other cities and not within Central City. I had a car back home. And now I'm thinking about how I miss driving.
But some of the smells are the same, I'll bet. Books always smell like books.

Yes! Book smells are familiar, for sure. I haven't found a coffee that tastes like my favorite coffee yet, but I'm sure there's some place here that makes it the same. In the meantime it's been fun trying coffee from a bunch of different shops.

I've found one shop in Heropa that gets pretty close to Jitters back home. But part of your favorite coffee and coffee shop is being a regular. You getting to know them, them getting to know you.

Yes!! I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that likes being a regular somewhere. I feel like I don't really know anybody here yet, so that's been a whole new set of things to get used to. I've had the same roommate for a long time so it's weird living somewhere new without her, but I guess that would have happened anyway.

I was about to leave on a backpacking trip before I got ported here.

Believe me, I understand that. I'm very much a creature of habit. Before here, the only time I didn't live in Central City was college and med school. I've lived in the same apartment for so long.

Oh, that sounds nice. Just around Europe or somewhere in particular?

Hey, Central City's kind of got it all, so I imagine it was easy to want to stick around.

I actually only had one actual planned destination in mind, then I was going to see where things take me from there. It's a half educational, half a typical "finding myself" global trip. Because why not.

If you can do it, why not indeed. I wonder how old is too old for a trip like that.

Not sure there's an age limit on self discovery. #deepasheck, right?

Certainly deeper than some things I've heard. Most days, I'd just settle for a vacation. Or even a staycation.

OH, you mean this doesn't feel like a vacation to you?

Let's see. Still paying bills, still have to go to work, still dealing with headaches not of my own making. Nope. Feels like home, though.

[plucky]

Yep, yep, and yep. There's less pollution here than there is in Gotham, at least. The air is cleaner. The crime is... different? I'm still getting used to that.

That's one constant I'm glad for. We have The Flash helping with crime back home. And we have him helping here.
