I can't say unfortunately, as I'm not meant to know. But it's a use of exploitation that's convinced us that although the likelihood of my identity being realized is rather low, it would be safer to proceed cautiously.

Right, so, there was something where someone got in trouble for being too honest but that thing was secret and now you're being honest but only under the cover of secrecy because you got some knowledge out of the secret thing being honestly made known to you. So this is why you need to stay secret.

Is there ANY possibility that maybe all of that is an excuse and you all just bloody love keeping secrets?

To be fair, it didn't happen because someone was too honest. Probably. But I'd prefer to avoid something similar happening, thus the precaution.

And it wasn't secret perse, just not well-known to many.

The reason I'm anon now is to keep my identity from being known should I use any suggestions here.

Yeah, I got that. I just think the secrecy is so SILLY. What if someone needs help? They won't know who to turn to...though, tbh, they'll probably be able to figure it out, because it's not like the imPort process-of-elimination is that difficult. There are only, what, about 30 of us who are at all secretive with their powers, and from there it's all ridiculously simple. Honestly, I could probably guess the 'secret identity' of every imPort superhero type with at least 95% accuracy.

True, though. Honestly, I think it's mostly politeness that keeps everyone pretending they don't know exactly who everyone else is.
