[ Tonight, the video feed shows Gaby tossing a roughly palm-sized object up into the air and catching it repetitively; for those who venture to look more closely it's a door knob. I'm curious. Now, I'm sure this question has been posed many times before, but I'd still like to know. How many of you already had powers before you were brought to this place? And how many of you were--for lack of a better term--completely ordinary beforehand? And how did you adjust to your newfound powers, if at all?

You see, I've been here for quite some time now, but still find it a little difficult to compensate for this--hm, unnatural strength? [ she doesn't want to call it super strength ] That I've been given. I assumed I would get used to it over time, but perhaps there's something more to it than just that.

[ She sighs, and stops tossing the thing up and down, now holding the broken-off doorknob up to be seen. ]

In other news, there doesn't happen to be anyone here with the power to fix doors very quickly, does there? I can certainly fix it myself, but I'm afraid I might make things worse instead.

Oh... yeah, you might have to call someone for that.

But it looks as if there's quite a few imPorts who might be able to help with it.

Of course. Actually, it's quite interesting to hear how different people's approaches are to simply fixing a door. You offered to fix it the way I would have, but there's people who can change the property of things... that sort of thing.

The great thing about diverse superpowers. If you've got a problem, someone might be able to solve it.

Or several people can, but in about twenty different ways. It's very entertaining. I wonder what sort of responses I would get if I asked for help opening a jar.

I'm assuming half of those responses would have been the equivalent of "smash it open".

You're probably right. Although I don't doubt that someone would have approached with more creative solutions too. Like changing the properties of the jar or something like that.

It feels kind of like overdoing it, in my opinion. It's a jar, not rocket science.

Yet I wouldn't be surprised if some people approached it that way.

Considering there's a number of imPorts who have referred to the communicators as "magic boxes"...

[ To be fair, Gaby's from far back enough in the past that the communicators might seem like magic boxes, although she would never call them that. She chuckles. ]

I wonder how they reacted to the Internet. I was quite surprised with it, myself.

Enough to get by, I suppose. There's a lot I admit I don't understand, but perhaps I will in time.
