It's entirely cause of time travel!

Most people don't hurt time when they time travel. But sometimes a few inexperienced time travelers cause a paradox or some other problem—killing your granddad, for example. It's up to the big boss Time Lords to smooth those over.

Likkkeee if aliens kinda blackhole'ed your planet somehow and maybe you went back so that didn't happen and everyone you love isn't super dead??

[ There's a pause, and a sigh, before the Doctor continues. ]

It depends. Some points in time are fixed, meaning they can't be changed. These can be both good things and bad things. The eruption of Vesuvius is always going to happen, but the invention of the polio vaccine's always going to happen as well. I don't know whether the explosion of your planet would be a fixed point or not. If it isn't? Congrats! You saved a bunch of lives and nothing went wrong. But if it is fixed? You'll start to see the results happening soon in the form of weird things. Time loops, forgetting memories, incursions of creatures from a different dimension, really nasty reoccurring cases of deja vu, so on and so forth.

The long and short of it is I don't know if saving a planet's good or bad or it doesn't matter. Needless to say, you created a minor paradox no matter what, but those tend to smooth themselves out.

Not just forgetting memories like you don't know where your keys are, forgetting memories like you can't remember your sensei's name and hang on a second, did you just say you've always had incursions of creatures from different dimensions in your life?

Dude I fight like alien brain things from Dimension X all the time. Their dimension is SO PINK. And they're such jerks! Although I guess kind of my mom too cuz they made the ooze stuff that mutated me?

I'd imagine they'd ruin the family reunion. What do alien brain things even eat, you'd have no idea how to cater!
