Oh! Also, how do you own a shop? Apparently I got promoted. I've worked in a shop before but I don't think I've ever owned one.

Yeah, but how're you going to know I'm pretending if I don't tell you I'm pretending? You might think I'm serious. [ the Doctor's grinning as well, having a ball. ] So that fire heals you up, but can you heal other people with your fire?

How am I supposed to even try and guess if you've already given me the answer? Seems kind of boring. [Cheeky.]

And unless you're into cauterized wounds, fire isn't really the type of healing anyone is looking for.

So says you. I've dealt with healing flames a couple of times before! Course, they were on different planets, but still counts.

Well mine are regular earth type flames made of of hydrogen, oxygen, potassium permanganate, and all the other elements that go into them. As far as I know, they aren't that friendly to anyone except me and one other person.

If there's somebody else out there like us, maybe it would work for them too, so I'll give you that.

Who's that other person?

My partner. [Former partner now.] The Human Torch, Jim Hammond. [Not that he expects this man to know who he is. Too many worlds where they don't exist.]

He's not around here. Probably still doing the job back home as he always does.

I wouldn't worry too much about him. When we return home, we return to the exact moment we left.

Yeah, I know. I just haven't looked him up in a couple months. Don't know what he's been up to. [But he can make a few good guesses.]

But we have powers that are the same--or were. "Human Torch" is pretty literal. Except the human part. [Which of course neither of them are all that "human," even if Toro's still learning what it means for him to be Inhuman.]

So if the human part isn't literal, what are you?

He's a synthetic human. Man-made, but sure as hell a lot more human than anyone else I know.

[What he is, more complicated, somehow. So he doesn't go into that if the guy isn't asking.] But enough about me. Why are you so curious about healing powers?

Simple curiosity. I'm the type of person who finds himself in trouble more often than not, it'd be useful to know a healer when I'm smack in the middle of trouble.

[Toro chuckles then.] That's not a half-bad idea, you know. Never thought about it that way before, since I'm used to healing myself. [Or Jim doing it.]

Too bad they didn't give you a healing power when they brought you here. It would make things a lot easier, huh?

Yeah but if they gave me a healing power, it'd probably take away my cool chalk power!
