[Riku's face, when he appears on the network today, is a little exasperated, and a little apologetic. Behind him, something tiny and black moves, and he picks his hair up and away from it, pulling it over his shoulder for lack of anything else to do with it. A sharp-eyed observer will note that the black thing is a wing. It's small, but it's clearly a pointy, leathery bat wing. Presumably, there's a matching one.]

So... I guess I was ported out.

[His very first port-out after a year and a half. What a strange experience. Riku pauses. He's pretty sure he... owes some people an apology.]

Uh -- sorry. From what I can tell it hasn't been very long, though...? A day or so tops, I think. I saw Kagami made a post, so I thought I should clear things up.

[He's surprised you all panicked, honestly...]

I guess I should thank you all for worrying, though.

He looks thoughtful at the question, though. Mika wants to know what happened, but without explaining everything he can't really give him a proper answer. So, the cliffnotes version.]

I went home, and took an exam for my weapon. Then I came back.

[Sometimes? Try all the time.

He knows absolutely nothing about Riku's world - other than the fact that Kagami doesn't think it's a good place.]

You have to take an exam to be able to use your weapon? That's stupid. Why couldn't you just take the exam here?

Oh. Uh -- either way I'd have been sent back, but I can't take the Mark of Mastery exam without someone who's already a Master to judge it. There aren't any Keyblade Masters here.

[A beat.]

Except me, I guess.

Hm, because the porter does whatever the hell it wants, right? At least you got something out of it.

What is a Keyblade? [What he's picturing is actually pretty close to what it is but just to make sure.]

Yeah. Some people just disappear and don't go home at all -- they just kind of hang around in some sort of limbo. I've heard people say they didn't go anywhere at all.

[Riku isn't fazed by the question -- he gets asked that a lot, after all. Instead, he simply turns on the video. On the camera isn't him but a keychain fashioned in the shape of the Kingdom Key, hanging from his regular keys.]

If the machine can't be fixed, why bother keeping it around at all? They should just destroy it. The people who are here might be stuck but at least no one else would get dragged in.

[He checks out the key and yep, it looks close enough to what he pictured.]

Looks pretty blunt for something claiming to be a blade.

Would you be all right with being stuck here? I have a theory that the people who built it don't have any control over it anymore. I think they built it and opened a sort of interdimensional Pandora's box. And -- yeah. The Kingdom Key isn't made for fighting flesh-and-blood enemies, so it doesn't need to be sharp.

[Riku feels like he's heard the 'looks pretty blunt' line about thirty times.]

So long as Yuu-chan was here too - absolutely. I have no desire whatsoever to return to my version of Earth and no reason to go back so long as Yuu is here. [Yuu is... bascially Mika's sole reason for living.] Though perhaps I'm the minority who prefers this world to their own.

What is it made for fighting? [Mika fights demons with his sword mostly.]

It's not you. There are a lot of people who would rather stay, I think. They don't all get that choice, but it's certainly a valid wish. This world isn't perfect by any means, but if your old world is completely horrible, then I would say it makes sense to want to stay.

[And he's guessing... Mika and Yuu's world is a complete shithole, based on the little information he has.]

They're -- monsters. They're made of darkness, rather than being anything approaching normal creatures. That thing can destroy them permanently, where anything else will just banish them temporarily and then reappear elswhere.

I didn't think I'd be the only one but surely not everyone's world can be as terrible as mine to give them reason to stay. There are just probably more that want to go home.

[There is not much left to their world. Sure both sides have rebuilt but with the war, there might not be anything standing when they're done. Honestly, Mika isn't sure their world is worth fighting over or attempting to save.]

Sounds annoying. How does someone go about getting a Keyblade to fight these darkness creatures?

It has to be passed to you, but the Keyblade itself has to accept you as its wielder before you can actually call it. I think it has to do with accepting yourself, first.
