[Riku's face, when he appears on the network today, is a little exasperated, and a little apologetic. Behind him, something tiny and black moves, and he picks his hair up and away from it, pulling it over his shoulder for lack of anything else to do with it. A sharp-eyed observer will note that the black thing is a wing. It's small, but it's clearly a pointy, leathery bat wing. Presumably, there's a matching one.]

So... I guess I was ported out.

[His very first port-out after a year and a half. What a strange experience. Riku pauses. He's pretty sure he... owes some people an apology.]

Uh -- sorry. From what I can tell it hasn't been very long, though...? A day or so tops, I think. I saw Kagami made a post, so I thought I should clear things up.

[He's surprised you all panicked, honestly...]

I guess I should thank you all for worrying, though.

Something like that. It's...complicated. But we were apart for a while back home until more recently. So I guess both of us are just making the most of this while we can for now.

Makes sense. I'm glad you guys get to hang out, then. Mika seems like it does him good.

Yeah! I'm glad to be together again too. Mika didn't exactly have things easy back home, but I think me being with him helps at least.

[Which is possibly even an understatement given how Mika's been influenced and forced to interact with others over the years of being at Sanguinem.]

Probably. It seems like it, anyway.

[Riku can't weigh in on that, but it seems like Mika having Yuu is... important. It's important for Riku to have his friends -- but he feels like Mika, the way he acts, would be a hundred times less sociable if Yuu weren't around.]

But if you know him enough to even say that, he must be doing well at talking to others at least, with these.

[Even if not necessarily in person. It's some small progress. Mika will get there eventually but Yuu is glad to hear it. Not that it would be....exactly difficult to make such assumptions given how obvious it is that Mika is possibly unhealthily attached to the younger boy. But still.]

Ah... I wouldn't say we'd talked too much. But I feel like it's a safe assumption.

[Mika just ... strikes him as the type. Especially after that display when Yuu had tried to introduce him to the rest of the network. Riku had sat there watching that for a little while and ended up feeling kind of awkward about it.]

Something like that. But it's good to know he is talking to others even a little. I knew he'd get there.

[It just takes time. Maybe slight nudging on Yuu's part. But Mika is getting himself out there even if mostly via the network somewhat. Which is good. Yuu wouldn't want him to entirely shut himself off.]

Well, it is only a little. But it's better than nothing. Cheer him on, would you?

Course I do! I always will. [Because regardless of Nike, Yuu will always be Mika's number one fan/supporter.]

Good, I'll count on you.

Of course you can! Cause it's Mika. I'll do my best!

[Even then it's still up to Mika. But any progress, however slow, however gradual, is good.]
