[Riku's face, when he appears on the network today, is a little exasperated, and a little apologetic. Behind him, something tiny and black moves, and he picks his hair up and away from it, pulling it over his shoulder for lack of anything else to do with it. A sharp-eyed observer will note that the black thing is a wing. It's small, but it's clearly a pointy, leathery bat wing. Presumably, there's a matching one.]

So... I guess I was ported out.

[His very first port-out after a year and a half. What a strange experience. Riku pauses. He's pretty sure he... owes some people an apology.]

Uh -- sorry. From what I can tell it hasn't been very long, though...? A day or so tops, I think. I saw Kagami made a post, so I thought I should clear things up.

[He's surprised you all panicked, honestly...]

I guess I should thank you all for worrying, though.

You feel bad? Heh, well... things used to be normal -- like, mundane. It's only in the last few years that we've become aware of how weird everything actually is.

[ Now that's something he does understand. ]

So everything just suddenly went crazy for you?

Pretty much. Before, it was just us kids, you know? Doing regular kid stuff. Then -- our world disappeared, and we were scattered, and things... went downhill from there.

Well.. yeah. A world disappearing sounds like it'd do that. [ STATING THE OBVIOUS, but.. you know, it's weird for him to just hear it like that. No matter what happened to Hyunsoo, Riku's world sounds like a whole different kind of special. ]

I get it though-- stuff going crazy like that out of the blue, I mean. It's weird when it turns out there's a whole lot more beyond the stuff you're used to and you never even knew.

[He's curious, suddenly -- Hyunsoo knows a decent amount of Riku's world, and Riku's just realizing he knows next to nothing about Hyunsoo's.]

[ He's never too sure what he should or shouldn't say about his world, but.. he figures at least a little bit can't hurt. ]

Until a few years ago I thought everything was super normal. Not that where I come from is anything near as weird as this place, but.. yeah, it's a little less normal than I thought.

Gotcha. So the facade dropped, is what you're saying.

[He grins faintly.] Good thing it's only a little weird, then, huh?

A little weird is already almost too much to handle.

[ Which he feels shouldn't be a personal thing and doesn't imply he's a weenie, so he can say it. Anyone would feel shocked being confronted with sudden vampires, right? ]

I don't know how you handle more than that on a daily basis where you come from, honestly.

Hm, maybe... I guess it depends on what kind of weird?

[Riku can handle weird. But there are some brands of weird that are worse than others.]

It just... slowly got more complicated. It's not like it all just blew up all at once.

Slowly? [ It surprises him a little, since in his case it definitely involved everything being turned upside down at once. Not that he doubts Riku - but it's more that he sounds a little.. well, almost curious. ]

That's hard for me to imagine, honestly..

Yeah. I mean -- there was the beginning, where everything went wrong at once. But then -- things just kept getting kind of... added on.

Maybe that's how you ended up in this place.

[ Not that he has any idea how specific people are dragged here - so it's more like a half-joke. Kind of. ]

They figured it was the only way to add something weird on that you hadn't seen yet by now.
