[This is a really...odd question to ask. And Kaneda knows it. But something's been on his mind as of late, especially with his new job working out the way it is. Boredom begets creativity, and thus the feed opens up to our favourite biker teen sitting at his desk in Neo Tokyo, sliding back and forth on his rolling stool as he plays with a thumbtack.

Poking his skin lightly with the tip. It makes no impression, and it's as if it were going into silly putty rather than actual skin.]


Does...anyone know where to get something that can block my powers? I don't know, like a magic bracelet or something?

[He has his reasons.

Hey. Why don't you get one while we're at it? I mean, you'll be right there.

[resipiscent]

[Riku looks surprised at this idea -- unlike his Replica, he hasn't really been sitting on the idea of getting a tattoo for who knows how long.]

Hm... I guess it's something to think about, isn't it?

[rassera]

I've got some ideas that didn't quite work for bikes...wanna stop by and look at em?


You haven't really seen the garage yet.

[resipiscent]

Yeah, now that you say that, I haven't, have I? All right, then. When, and do you want me to bring anything by?

[Noodles?]

[rassera]

[This is why Maya says you two are married, Riku.]

Whenever works for you! I'm here--and I'm kinda hungry.

[resipiscent]

[Riku has never heard her say that, and he would not know how to handle that if he did.]

Right, then. Give me a few minutes, would you?

[rassera]

I'll be here.


[Probably racing Capsule across the garage open area on his stool, but...you know.

Hard work is definitely happening.]

[resipiscent]

[Riku takes almost no time at all. It might be about twenty minutes to actually stop and pick up some noodles, but then there's a black tear in space letting out cool air into the garage's entryway. Riku heads to find Kaneda, unzipping his coat as he does. It seems he's put openings in the back of it for his wings, long slits with buttons underneath to close them once the actual wing is through. He has to wait to unbutton them until he actually gets to Kaneda, reaching to set the bag on the table so he can use both hands.]

Hi, [he says distractedly, fumbling behind his back.] Lo mein all right?

[rassera]

[When Riku arrives, Kaneda's...basically doing the same thing--scooting around on that stool of his and waiting for the arrival of his boyfriend buddy. Look at how hard he's working, Riku. Be proud of his accomplishments.

But it's short lived, skidding to a stop (and almost falling off at the sight of those wings--he still hasn't quite gotten used to them just yet)]

I forget how fast you are with those portals.


[He rolls once more, letting his feet catch him and pull him up as the stool takes off for the other side of the garage, walking over to take the bag.]

From the usual place?

[They have a usual place.]

[resipiscent]

[Finally he gets the long coat undone properly, then drops it on an empty table so he can stretch his arms out ahead of him. Riku finds himself a stool of his own, hooking one foot across one of the wheeled spokes.]

Yeah. There's chopsticks and drinks in there, too.

[He'll let Kaneda get his, then settles with his own, opening the container up. He is pretty hungry, actually. They had good timing.]

So, what are you going to get?

[rassera]

[This is why they're such good friends. Riku thinks of everything.

There's a quick shove of his hand into the bag to retrieve those drinks. No patience, this one.]

You mean the tattoo? Well, it's got to be big, so I'm thinking...maybe something as big as my whole arm, you know? Make a statement.

[resipiscent]

Can you sit still that long?

[The words come out without his needing to think about them -- banter like this is easy, and he grins, gathering some noodles in his chopsticks.]

It'd be hours, if you're doing all that at once. But you don't have a design in mind or anything?

[rassera]

[A good question, honestly, because Kaneda had never thought of it like that. A giant tattoo meant sitting still for longer...and that meant his hyperactive personality would have to be occupied. And who was going to put up with that and that poor tattoo artist and--]


Eh. I'll be fine.


[Maybe.]

I'm thinking of a giant dragon, head up here [As he points to his pec] and the tail down by my wrist.

[resipiscent]

[Well, that's why his whole entourage is coming with him, to divert his attention so the tattoo artist can actually do their job within a reasonable amount of time.]

That's pretty good. In red?

[Don't say he doesn't know you, Kaneda.]

[rassera]

[Noted. He's so glad you can paint by numbers, Riku.]


What gave it away?

[He can count to ten without using his fingers, too! What a smart boy.]

Ah, I just had a feeling. Anyway, I think that sounds pretty cool.

[After all, it's all about aesthetic, isn't it? That seems to him to be the whole point.]
