So. What is the big deal about turning eighteen anyway? What do you do then? I mean. Sure. University or whatever, I'm looking into that. It's not all that different from being seventeen is it? I dunno on having some massive party or anything.

I could see how it might be a big deal back home, but. Not so much here, I guess.

I get that. I thought about joining the F.B.I. once, so I could help kids that were going through what I went through or stop it from happening to them. I hope you get to help them.

The FBI? They're like the elite police or whatever, right? I guess you could have used that to help kids out too. But yeah, that's the idea at least. I just need to get through this further study.

Which probably means asking Kaneki and others for more help. Probably. I've gotten better here, but I'm still not the best. With academic stuff or whatever.

Something like that, yeah. I thought I could have gotten kids out of bad situations.

There's nothing wrong with asking for help, as long as you trust them.

And you don't have to be the best at academic stuff to be the best to the kids you help. You know what I mean?

I do. They helped me get through school, anyway.
So that's got to figure something worked.

I know. I'm not really worried about the practical part of it or whatever. It's more the theory and writing stuff.

You'll get through it. It's theory you'll be interested in.

I guess. Rather than Maths or English.

Yeah. I never liked math either.

I don't think I've met anyone who did. Except maths teachers and even then.

It was too black and white for me. You're either right or wrong. I preferred classes where you can have opinions.

I was never the best with school in general. But then, I missed out on a lot of it with everything that happened back home, so. That probably isn't so surprising.

It's not surprising that you missed out. I missed out on graduating because of stuff that happened back where I'm from. At least we can have opportunities here.

You did? What happened? Graduating is supposed to be a big deal, right?

Really bad stuff happened.

You don't have to say. Or, not like this, if you don't want.

Did you at least keep up studying here?

[am_i_a_monster]

Sort of. I study on my own sometimes.

[dejerate]

Yeah? What are you studying now?

[am_i_a_monster]

Psychology mostly.

[dejerate]

That's studying the mind or whatever, right? I think we might go into that a little with the child development stuff if I go through with this study.

You probably will. It's fascinating really, all the ways that childhood stuff can affect people.

[dejerate]

Fascinating? I hadn't really figured on it. But then I probably try not to. Considering my childhood and how messed up that all was.

I'm starting to think everyone's childhood is messed up in some way.

[dejerate]

I'm sure at least some had more happy, normal childhoods out of all of us here. Probably. Just not me.

Mine didn't start out messed up. But it got really messed up.

Probably the case for a lot of kids though. Things really.....went downhill when I was seven, really.

That's really young. That sucks.
