[ Opting for the text function is definitely a less daunting prospect compared to airing a live video for strangers to see, but to Haru, first impressions are important. She can feel her hands and chest warming up, though a part of that could be attributed to the fact she's wearing that thick pink sweater. Still... she's not unused to addressing a large audience, it's just finding yourself in a world that isn't the cognitive one even with your friends here is somewhat unnerving.
But that's why video it has to be. She needs to convey a friendly approach and demeanor, otherwise it will be much harder to ask anyone for help should she ever need it.
There's no fumbling of the communicator once the feed starts up. Haru is seated close to the table it's propped up on, her hands laid neatly in her lap. She smiles at her unknown audience, a touch shy, but it's warm and friendly. ]
Good afternoon, everyone. My name is Haru Okumura. [ A beat. Does she mention her family? No. ] It is very nice to meet you all. I've heard there are many of us who have been brought to this world. Um, I suppose some of you have been here long enough to hear the same questions over and over, but if you would indulge me I would very much appreciate it.
[ She shifts closer, speaking a bit more clearly. ]
I have heard that superheroes are real in this world ― something that government actively encourages. [ It's difficult to mask the intrigue. Her eyes seem to light up. ] There must be superheroines, yes? I can hardly believe it myself... but that sounds amazing! I wonder if they are anything like the ones I admired on TV as a child.
[ An abrupt pause, followed by Haru's shoulders rolling back and a whimsical smile settling onto her face. ]
Ah, my apologies. I seem to have gotten a bit distracted for a moment.

[Really, why wouldn't there be? It's an odd thought to Izuku, though no more odd than the idea of a world where Quirks and Heroes aren't as pervasive as they are in his own world.]
I only just got here myself so I haven't gotten much of a chance to research the pros here, but I could help you look into it, if you like...!

It was easier when it wasn't so blatant. It takes him a moment to gather the courage to respond, video on. He looks... tired, more worried then he's trying to let on with a small, light smile. He had thought, briefly, he could get away with saying he's from a different time but -- his ruse would be seen through rather quickly. ]
Miss Okumura... I hope you've been well.
[ Despite his efforts he's still at a loss for words so he just sends her Kaneki's FAQ and hopes that will help her. ]

And then she remembers her very own words to Akira and what she saw back in Shido's palace when Akechi revealed his true colours. A young man with twisted desires, but also used and broken. It made her feel genuinely sorry for him. He was not forgiven, but he was pitied.
There's no contempt when she finally speaks. Instead, she offers him grateful smile. ]
Hello, Akechi-kun. I have been, thank you for asking. [ She pauses, finally looking away, but remains cordial. ] It is good to see you doing well yourself. Truly.

I'm Otabek Altin.
There are superheroes and superheroines here.
You can be one, too.

Oh! I am not sure I could be a superheroine myself.
[ Well, maybe! She essentially is a vigilante... but she can't go around telling the world that. ]
I would need a cape, wouldn't I?

[It's one of the best parts of the whole deal, right? Beth gives Haru a smile in answer, her scarred face bright. She's dressed for spring already--tank top, floral headband--but there's a scarf bunched up around her neck.]
If you want to be. Did you get some good powers?
video
[ She laughs softly. ]
Superpowers? Oh... [ She shouldn't bring up her Persona, but she could talk about the other ones, right? ] It seems this power I received is tied into the one thing I am good at.

Of course there can be super heroines as well, Okamura-san. There's just one very important rule when it comes to being one, though.
[ He flashed a wink at her. ]
The cuter you are, the more heroic you are. Pretty simple rule, right?

[ Tatsuya can verify there's one's like what he saw on TV— one of his new powers in this world is to turn into a Phoenix Ranger Featherman. Not that he's spreading that one around. Secret identities, you know! ]

I mean, don't quote me on that. I don't have the stats to back it up, but... Superheroes and heroines are just a thing where I'm from, and there are a lot of them there and here, so I'm sure finding a match is possible.
video
I don't recall the names too well nowadays, but I remember one superheroine with this red and black costume. She had a mask and long, beautiful dark hair. It was always perfect, even when she took down criminals.
So you have superheroes in your world? I suppose this place didn't come as a big surprise to you then?

Even though the genre is rather lacking in gender equality, there are plenty of superheroines, although if you want true equality, I think only using one title is a nice blanket to catch anyone who might not fall under either name. I dislike the use of gendered etymology.
I like using hero in an equal-opportunity sense.
[ Jesus. Are you sick of hearing that djgitized lilt, yet? He laughs, instead. It sounds like Wario. ]
Sorry, I get like this sometimes. You're not the only one who gets distracted.
video
I suppose that is a fair counterpoint. There were always a lot of male heroes on TV growing up, so seeing the occasional woman meant something to a younger me.
[ Representation matters!
The laugh is perplexing. She can't tell if he's being friendly or he likes to talk. ]
Please don't apologize. It's not a bother at all.

Superheroes, um, I guess if that's what you wanna call it... Mostly it's a mess.

It takes all types. Male, female, young, old... I would at least assume that's the case even here. [ He has a London accent and deep indigo suit on. ] Since the heroism's what we're all here for, innit?
