If by "working at the hospital" you mean "assigned to assistant teaching at a university," then yes.

[it's a playful kind of indignance that tinges her voice; of course the assignment's a little insulting, but considering the free pass she's just been given, she's hardly in a place to be upset in earnest.]

You don't sound very bothered by the situation. In fact, it sounds like you find this somewhat funny.

Not that she hasn't encountered that tone, of course. lesser minds are often given to take issue with her and her methods. Thing is, her methods haven't remotely come up. And she most certainly does not know his voice.
