However, what of the additional marks? Northeast, northwest, and so on, maybe?
I wish I had more of a mind for such puzzles...

i put it together
like a compass, the V and the ^ verses have three pieces on each side
same with < and >
the joiners all have a fixed place on the circle, and it goes round and round
here.

i was anxious of this all of this time, last year
i guess i should have stayed that way

I tried combining letters in between those dot breaks and I think I got something about 'bears' and I don't know if I'm on the right track or not but I'm concerned

How did you come up with bears? Did you figure out a pattern in the arrangement of the messages?

the dots in the messages seem like breaks kinda like morse code? They could signify separate words

so far we have 'wise' and 'eight pieces' as clues and it looks like there's eight different texts total not counting the people that got clues

so Im just grouping things together using the dots as breaks and trying to unjumble words

Some people have been talking about the symbols being something like a compass, with the directions being the order of the pieces. What if we need to take letters from all the pieces, and not just by themselves?

The symbols are just like a compass! North south etc!! The letters might form words that way too! That would explain the other punctuation marks!
