[could_be_dangerous]

In light of recent events it seems apt that I make an advertisement offering my services to the general public. I am Sherlock Holmes, consulting detective, amply acquainted with the solution of murders, thefts, arsons, and the generally unsavoury, etc. Inquiries of a general nature may be directed to me at any time, though I take cases at my own discretion, and will generally request an interview to establish both the particulars and the legitimacy of the case. The suspicious may refer to Dr. John Watson for a no-doubt superfluously effusive list of my general accomplishments, and when he proves unconvincing I should be delighted to provide a demonstration of my capabilities. In what will no doubt be vastly more appealing than any of the previous to some of you, I shall add that all services will be rendered entirely gratis.

Additionally, there may be some threadjacking here and there by the aforementioned Dr. Watson since it is his lot in life to babysit this gigantic infant, and if anyone would like to address him instead of Sherlock they can note as much in their subject lines.))

I find given an absence of talent for other social graces the best one can hope for is coming across as devastatingly competent. Waste is relative and people like it when you dress up nice and talk like you know what you're doing; that's hardly my fault.

Shockingly well. Of course, it helps if you actually do know what you're doing, but that doesn't seem to matter much if you can't also present a pretty package.

Whatever is appropriate to the situation. When advertising one's talents, perhaps best not to play dumb.

anyway what kind of mystery do you usually solve? murders or arson or what

Arson is typically straightforward enough that even the police can handle it. Disappearances are more tricky; private clients generally, occasionally police. Murder has more potential. Much more interesting and generally considered more urgent, therefore my consultations frequently involve at least one corpse.

Does seem a rather unfair advantage, doesn't it? Though you're assuming that I only have an interest in investigating crimes against imPorts, not entirely a safe one despite the venue in which I have chosen to advertise.

uh, if you're trying to help the police though, i do know a sheriff. stilinski. haven't talked to him in a while though, dunno if he's still here.

Good to know. I'll have to reach out. Always useful, sheriffs. Frequently out of their depth.
