[ Someone's just given her first class of the day. The white-board behind Verity is wreathed in high-school physics ("What is a Vector? A quantity that displays both magnitude (numerical size) and direction...") used to teach the kids who are now enjoying a short break in between lessons (and yelling like freight trains outside). Setting down the video so she can wipe the previous writing off, if you know her then you might notice a little effort having been put into her appearance with an actual teacher-y skirt and heels. No joggers! She showered!! Amazing.
Tucking ruffled pink hair behind an ear, she pushes her glasses back up and flashes a smile. Little awkward, but. ]
Hi, my name's Verity Willis.
If you're a student at Xavier's School for Imports, this is a quick PSA that I'll be your new student counsellor from now on — it's been rehiring, obviously, and won't be closing, or so I've been told. Should you need to talk then come and find me, you don't need an appointment! I also teach Physics and Data Programming, so if you want an intro to either of those make sure you attend class over the next few weeks. When you can't find me in the classrooms or labs, come by the offices and one of the other teachers will give my phone a call.
[ About to sign off with a smile, she remembers to flatly add, ] Oh, and if you're going to lie about why you haven't done your homework? Don't. You'll get double just like the brave soul from the Tenth Grade yesterday.
( ooc: permissions! )

VIDEO.
Bringing us such gems as "don't ask for a bathroom pass unless you really have to use the toilet," and "you didn't write this essay, did you?"
Ah—consider this a PSA for all you mendacious types.

I'm David Xanatos; I'll be taking over the Director position at Xavier's. Handling financial matters, making sure you get paid-- you know, the boring stuff.

Best of luck being a counsellor, by the way. I was one for the first month or so I was here—it's amazing how hormone-riddled those children are.

I'm not — that's not exactly the kind of problem I'm here to deal with.

I am not familiar with those subjects though, are they important in order to live in this world?

[ She thinks of standing safely in Loki's apartment in Maurtia Falls, guarded and secure, and something resists. Verity doesn't resent being protected, she'd do the same for him too in a heartbeat, it's just — ]
Ever since I came here, I've been unable to avoid the whole imPort thing. I hate it, but it's what I'll always be while we stay, and ... even if I'm outside a fire-fight, I don't think I should hide anymore. I want to help instead of opting for the easy route out. [ Taking a deep breath, she puffs pink hair out of her eyes. ] So I'm internally freaking out over losing my board-marker and having taken a couple of migraine tablets already since breakfast, yeah, but it's okay. It's okay, because even though I have a headache I know I've been there for the kids who needed someone to know they were lying today, just so they could feel like someone could really see them.
No one ever really knew what I was thinking, or saw me. Then I made it so they couldn't.
[ Perched on the edge of a desk in an empty classroom, instead of holed up with a data entry program and complete silence, none of this is easy but it most certainly feels right. Verity offers Kate a hesitant smile (Brave Heart — minus the Mel Gibson face-paint, she'd like to actually live up to that standard when lying to herself isn't an option anymore), yet it's easier to talk with the sight of a friend there. Is she embarrassed to admit any of this? A little, but then again making this thoughtful reply private would be like lying to herself about some of her past issues having existed, and that will never be an option. ]
Annnd I'm fully aware I sound like sitcom material, please purple-arrow-to-the-face me now.
[ Preferably in the head so she gets a nice streak in her hair out of it. ]
