I don't know what I saw yesterday, but I don't think I'm the only one who saw it.

I need information about a brainwashing facility that might have existed twenty, maybe thirty years ago. Or anything dealing with imPorts, if there's a record of that. I've been looking into it, but I haven't had a lot of luck turning anything up.

I want to know if that was real.

Not really. Apparently my idea of fun is being on the run from soldiers.

I did both. Ten forward earlier this week, then back.

Good end, if you count imPorts being in charge as a good thing. But it wasn't perfect.

It's mental conditioning. Training someone to believe and see what you want them to, even against their will.

So it's blood magic?

But they don't even have magic here.

You don't need magic to manipulate someone's mind. If you've got the right mechanism for it, anyway. I'm not an expert, but I know the brain's basically a fancier version of a computer. You can scramble it a lot of ways.

Not very reassuring to hear that, just so you know. What way were they using?

Wasn't meant to be.

They were using propaganda videos and some kind of subliminal suggestions. Pretty crude, but enough exposure did the job.

Subliminal?

They were trying to influence us without actually ... saying what they wanted. Like being hypnotized, only more permanent.

So mind control without even knowing its mind control. Grand.
