[Good morning Nonah/Heropa/De Chima/etc. residents. Hope you've been enjoying it, because you'll need something to buffer here. Kaneda's already outside, lounging on his bike with his feet kicked up, hands behind his head and looking at the sky. Kaneda, you couldn't look more bored if you tried.]

So I guess I'm supposed to give you guys traffic updates or something. And you know me--I've got a burning desire to be an upstanding citizen.

[He turns his communicator about 30 degrees to the left, showing a patch of empty road that his bike was parked next to. Insert the cliche tumbleweed for some added aesthetic.]

Whooooooo-oooo! Brutal out there, guys! Stay safe!

[Okay, even he can't hide his smirk anymore.]

Nonah Porter, got it.

[There's a small move of his wrist as he goes to turn his bike on, smiling.]

Don't keep me waiting, got it?

[You smartass.]

Yeah, right. Just because I don't have a crazy bike.

[He hangs up, on his way to the Porter now.]

[To say Kaneda was excited about this was an understatement. In both ways, really. He hadn't gotten a close look at any of the hover vehicles, so he was really talking out his ass with that. But at the same time, he was convinced that wheels made the vehicle.

Showing Riku that was just a bonus.

He's leaning up against the outside of the Porter building, hands stuffed in his pockets.]

[Riku passes through the Porter, carrying his bike in front of him across the border. It's like a regular moped, only as if the wheels had been taken off, and the axles replaced with different hardware. When he comes outside, he nods to Kaneda, then approaches, setting the vespa down between them.]

Here it is.

[There's a smile in greeting, hands pulled out of his pockets as he walks over. There's a crouch to get a better look at the 'hover' aspect of the vespa, hand reaching out to kind of 'feel' it.

Yep, no strings attached on this one, it was the real deal. As for the rest of it, it was a nice aesthetic. Honestly, it was a nice little bike--it did the job right. (If you could call it a bike, that is.)]

Huh.

[His hands go up to the handles, inspecting the controls on them--looking at the speedometer, tapping it out of pure habit.]

I like the controls on it.

It's pretty easy to handle. It can't go super fast, but it's steady, and to be fair, it looks pretty cool.

[He nods to it, then looks at Kaneda.]

Try it out, if you like.

[Kaneda looks up at that, smiling. Confirmation that he could sit on it was just what he wanted. It was rude to just jump on someone else's bike, after all.

His leg swings over, bouncing a few times to try and feel that hover.]

Whoooo-hoo. I remember this--we had something like this back home, but were more for military, you know?

[He leans to each side, getting a feel for it]

Yeah. Too fancy for civilians, I'm assuming.

[He leans against the wall, watching curiously. He's never seen like, a proper bike guy at work.]

[It's not long before he gets off, crouching down again to put his hand under the 'hover' part.]

Still....could use some wheels.

It's not that bad, is it?

[He watches Kaneda check it out, tilting his head a little. Though honestly, he's never ridden a bike with wheels, so...]

It's not bad but...

[How does he explain it...]

It's like...music without drums.

What, it's got no rhythm?

[He smiles, then nods.]

I gotcha. It is kinda... weird, huh? It feels a lot different than riding in a car.

No rhythm, no feeling...

[This was a mode of transportation, but in Kaneda's eyes, it wasn't a ride.]
