Let's play a game, shall we? I'm sure many of us looking at the network for now have nothing better to do. Have you ever played 'Would You Rather?' It relies on creativity and a degree of forethought. [And can be a lot more indepth and profound than one might think. Or so he hopes it will be.]

You create two situations and ask which someone would prefer. Shall I start? Perhaps something simple to get our feet wet.

Though you never said the lie was about myself. ... Well, it doesn't matter. The answer stays the same. There aren't many white lies I can think of that would actually save someone anyway.

You answered so quickly. So you don't do it for the fame? What a good boy.

And not really, not in that way at least. I won't say that something small can't ever have a big impact in the long run, but isn't it too much to assume that's the case every time?

I'm not sure it's meant to be assumed like that. A small change could mean nothing just as much as everything. It's the same with putting a lot into something, only for it to bring little gain. Wasted potential in a way.

So really you're not talking butterfly effect as much as regular cause and effect? If that's the case then maybe I can buy into it.

The Butterfly Effect may lead to extreme cases, I asked if you knew of it so I didn't have to explain the concept of small happenings developing into big consequences- and if you believed it possible. What I'm speaking of it more like that flapping of a butterflys wings into a hurricane. A white lie into something much more devastating. Cause and effect is nearly indisputable, but to the degree the butterfly effect speaks of- that's what I was interested in.

Small lies hadn't done much to screw him over, but omissions of truth? Now those had some very, very nasty consequences in his life. ]

It's not magic, it's illusions. [Badum tsh- wait maybe that's a reference you won't get, damn.]

Sleight of hand mostly, my medium is cards. I could give you more specific terms but I doubt they'd mean anything to you. [And they'd technically be a lie, he's not a real magician.]

[ Sadly the reference goes right by him. As does the difference between an illusionist and a magician. Don't magicians use cards? ]

I never learned card tricks, so they probably wouldn't.

[Illusionists are the same thing really. Any sort of 'magician' like that was an illusionist. And the joke he's making is merely a silly one, not a reference, the reference is more just meta humour.]

I could teach you, they're rather fun.

[ So in the end it's not the job title, just the fact that the magic isn't actually real after all. Then again, in a world where actual magic is real? There's probably a good reason for him to make that distinction. ]

How much would I have to pay for those?

[Real, not real. It's really hard to say. He's been called a Magician, The Magician, and then called a false one. And with Nen as his ability, who's to say? But he is good at usual sleight of hands tricks either way, and has entertained with them here before.]

To learn tricks? Some of your time maybe?

[ Actually considering it now. He's done worse things than learn card tricks to cure his boredom here. ]
