Okay, so. Hi. I'm new to this ridiculousness and I've got some questions.

First, did anybody else's powers not come with any directions? I figured out one of them, but the other two don't make any sense or have like, any hints how to use them. At all. Which is stupid.

I mean, I'm sure I can figure it out eventually but...who know how long that could take.

Right, and the other thing, do we have to do the job on our papers? 'cause student I'm great at but the other one sounds ridiculous. And like, beneath me. Really beneath me.

No one's powers come with directions. You either had them before, or you will have to learn by yourself how to use them. There are some people who might have similar set of powers and are willing to teach.


And you are not forced to do any kind of job they give you. You can decide not to work or simply find a job you believe it suits you better.

They aren't given by the military; the Porter gives them. And each person is different.

And no. That is a job you're given, that'll give you a start and help you settle here. You don't have to keep it, though, by any means.

Unfortunately, I didn't get 'instructions' either. I've just figured things out over time. To be honest, I don't routinely use the power--most of what I've figured out is the ability to not use the power.

Not quite, at least not in my instance.

It's been constant--an influx of information, nonstop. I suppose the best way to describe it is a bit like breathing? You can breathe consciously faster or slower, but you're doing it nonetheless. I can focus on the power, and get more information. I can focus on not using the power, and get very little information. Without any conscious effort either way, however, there's still some information coming in. An awareness. It's like constant chattering, noise. There's no turning it completely off.

Testing your powers is probably the best way to figure them out, but that would depend on what they are in the first place.

I wasn't sure what to do with mine when I first arrived.

That's how I figured out one of them. But the other two don't really give any clues. I don't even know how to test it if I don't know where to start!

If you register, the government wouldn't be against helping you out monetarily. If you're a minor, especially so. You at least won't have to pay for any rent if you stay in the government housing, so you won't have to worry so much about income if you don't want to keep that job.
