[ The video clicks on to Freddie, frowning at the camera, still dressed for winter, black beanie hat perched on her head. Frown on her face, she gives the camera a small nod, trying not to show just how freaked out she is.

Because spoilers: Freddie's pretty freaked out.

I've just got two questions. [ for now, at least. ] One, what's this nonsense about super powers? And two... [ now her expression changes to something that's purely 'I can't believe this shit.' ] who knows anything about dogs?

[Those moments when he thinks society can't get any worse and it does? This is one of those. A periodical devoted to dogs.]

You have my sympathies. Are you a writer by trade or is this another mis-assignment?

A crime journalist. That must be ... something.

[While he's never met one himself, Hannibal can put the pieces together well enough to get what she means. This might be another he'll have to watch should she be smart and not the sort to merely parrot back details. If he's faking not recognizing her, he's playing it to the limit.]

I find myself sharing in your predicament. I am surgeon who is now somehow a chef.

We didn't have 'crime journalists' in my time. There are those who report on crimes, but most of them tend to be of the yellow journalism stripe.

[Freddie calls all the crazy to the yard.]

1951 to be precise. Here I had thought it would be a normal day at work.

Is your era one of the more advanced ones?

[Given how he holds the broadcast device, he's not comfortable or exactly trusting of it.]
