[The screen of their communicators flickers to life with a fluorescent glow. Initially, there's only a hint of someone there-- thick red fabric, chain mail, a hammer.]

I had prayed to come to good tidings. Greet friends, and assuage fears. To bolster thy strength with mine own.

Instead, I come here haunted by past misgivings I thought requited, by a name all too familiar to me. If you know him as well, I would like to speak to him.

[It doesn't sound like a request. The image swings up high to a broad faced man with long blonde hair. A winged helmet. His eyebrows are drawn down across a brow rigid as though it were carved from stone.]

[Elena is momentarily startled when she gets a good look at the speaker on the latest network introduction. The guy is beefy.]

If you don't mind a stranger saying, you don't sound especially friendly.

[ Something about the video, the way he speaks, the hammer -- it makes Julian believe it when he reads the name on the ID. Thor Odinson. This is the most exciting newcomer in a long time. ]

[ PERSEPHONE SMELLS THE GOOD DRAMA BREWING. Hell, she'll even get out of her sadness hole to go sit on her throne of flowers.

Looking for friend, huh? A name might help.

[ Max is enough of a comics nerd to recognize the Marvel version of Thor, which is cool and all, but it unfortunately reminds him that his world's Thor is no longer here with him.

But that's nothing to dump on the new guy. Max leans against a wall, looking thoughtful when he responds. ]

Yeah, I guess things aren't always as requited as people think they are. I mean, I don't know your situation or anything, obviously. But in my experience, ending a conversation isn't the same thing as ending a fight.

For what it's worth, though, maybe your friend's just not from the same time as you. Like, before you two worked it out.

[Well if that very unique way of speaking isn't an indicator that this is some version of Thor, the hammer sure is. Wanda is familiar with a Thor back in her universe.]

[Max can't help but smile at the man's antiquated speech. It's a good-natured one, of course, but - still. He's almost Shakespearean.]

[She's out on patrol in De Chima and taking a break when she checks the network and sees, well, this. Have a Spider-person on the screen.

It's not every day you have the chance to talk to Thor.

She can make a few guesses.]

I'm pretty sure he's still holed up after what happened last month.

Does your friend or anyone else have anything to fear from you?

[She's cautious. His declaration and the fact that he was holding a hammer causes Peggy some concern.]

[Seeing as they're stuck in the same residence together, Harry doesn't bother hiding his scarred face, because this guy will probably be seeing plenty more of it. Unfortunately, the name on Thor's ID means nothing to him, so Harry just kind of ends up staring with his brows furrowed.]

[Well, look at that. Very similar, but with some obvious differences (most noticeably the helmet). Still, there's nowhere near enough differences for Clint to not be instantly aware who this is, at least in terms of people - gods - he's familiar with.]

There's probably a lot of people here you can call 'friend.' Question is, which one're you talking about?
