[ It's late at night when Cullen makes the post, the time of night when people would probably text something like this. But typing on the phone is still too much of an unnatural struggle for him to default to it.
He sounds relatively normal. Maybe just a tiny bit tired. ]
What is it you do when you cannot sleep and there is no work to be done to better utilize the hours you spend awake?
[ There's a tiny pause. ]
I am no stranger to sleepless nights, yet in coming here, I've now naught to do with mine.

Is there a directory of such individuals I might use?
[ It's... not really a joke. ]
What is writing code? I've not heard of it before.

[ There's fondness in his voice at the recollection. For all that Thedas was at war for most of it, he does have fond memories of Skyhold. ]
I may have to emulate you and find something new to study now.

But, okay. He'll offer a real suggestion. ]
Typically I read. Or have a bit to drink. Or should I become truly desperate, I'll make a draught.

I've already cleaned my house. [ Then, more seriously; ] I'm afraid making draughts is somewhat beyond my nonmagical abilities.

[ Damen speaks with no hesitation. He's familiar enough with the feeling, though it hasn't been so much of a problem lately. ]
Alone, usually, until my mind is clear.
Perhaps it would help to make you tired.
no subject
[ Because his mind is never clear these days. ]
Though perhaps more exercise is an answer. I am not as active here as I was at home, even though I try to be.

I might ask the same of you. You stopped speaking with me so abruptly when last we spoke that I assumed that I had offended you in some manner.

Yeah, used to not be a problem, right?
[ She seems to consider something for a moment. ]
Maybe you should try dog videos.
no subject
[ The rising inflection in his voice suggests that yes, he would very much like to try these things. Provided his understanding of videos is correct. ]
I quite enjoy dogs. I've one of my own. What are these and where might I find them?

[ Edmund laughs softly. ]
I've found myself spending time in the library, but I can't always be around it. Apparently, they have closing hours. For the rest of the evening, if I were still restless, I'd simply take a walk, clear my head. My sister — she's been here for a year, and she's claimed a farm. It's much soothing out here in the countryside, in my opinion.
no subject
Why on earth would a library close? Should not the knowledge be available for all any time?
[ It certainly was in Skyhold. ]
I much prefer the countryside to a city myself. I was born on a farm. City life is not in my blood, however much time I spend in them.

Of course, there's also browsing places on the Internet you wouldn't normally go to when people could interrupt you.

I believe I would be better served avoiding such things. But it is good to know that they provide some aid to others.
