The standard syllabus that I've been capable of finding seems overly generic, and hardly tailored for those who did not grow up in this culture. Is this schooling mandatory or are there specialized accelerated programs specifically for those not from here?

as far as i know SOME kinda schooling is mandatory, whether it's the normal kind or something different like home schooling or...some special program or whatever.

i think there's a school especially for imPorts? pretty sure they got regular classes alongside helping out with power control for those who need it, too.

That at least makes things a bit more explainable then expecting transfers to be capable of being on the same level as those from this place.


Is there a place to gain resources regarding the options available?

i don't think they can enforce it too much because some people who show up here are from completely different worlds or points in time, you know? but they'll definitely hassle you about it if you don't show up.

but it's not a bad idea to pursue it if you think you might be here a while. some people last a few months so it's not a big deal, but there's like...hell i think there's a guy that's been here like 7 years or something wild like that? and in that kinda case...well, the schooling will definitely help you do something worthwhile.

oh, and you could probably use the ambassadors as a resource, they'll likely know about any special programs or if there's any up and coming options you might wanna consider!

School is optional, but you'll find the structure different from Japan's schools no matter where you go.

It seems more improbable that they would know how schooling works in countless different universes then, wouldn't it? They can't make a separate school for each person.

I heard there is a school available specifically to imPorts, but I don't know about how their curriculum is. I heard it focuses more on physical abilities and controlling what powers you gain here.

The community here isn't opposed to you doing anything with your education. You could skip years if you wanted.

While learning about these powers is ideal in regards to control and property damage the lack of specific class to educate in regards to history and political powers is damaging in the long term since not all are of school age or incline to educate themselves in such subjects.

That seems to be a starting point for decay of order. Though wouldn't it be best to attend to at least know what it is this world expects you to know?

Only if you're intending to play along. There isn't very much order in a place where they can't even control their own machines.

Technically, I think you can do whatever you like. Depending on your age, I'd imagine there'd be different avenues you could take.

[Riku has no idea first-hand, honestly, since he didn't go back to school when he got here. But he pays attention to what other people are up to, so he has a bit of an idea.]

Age may be the largest barrier in regards to autonomy and remaining within the laws then.


[He'd fail at being an actual delinquent, so he's not really going to just not go just because he finds the curriculum horrible.]

Well, even if you do want to play by the rules -- there are still different options, right? I'd imagine there are classes that take kids who are at a higher level than the average. That, or continuing with self-study. It doesn't seem like if you don't go to school that they actually do something about it, though I know they do with the residents of this world.

If you want to go to school, though, I'd get in touch with the school district and see if they have anything to offer you. You're still at an age where school is generally mandatory, right?
