You know, we have a lot of really talented people here. Not that we didn't before -- us imports have always been pretty on top of things, but I think it goes without saying that without the talent and skill of everyone, there'd probably be a few of us that would be dead right about now. Or at least we'd have died. So, I don't think anyone's said it yet, but thanks, to everyone who helped get us out of there.

[ And there's a pause there, he's trying to be nice, and his ego is suffering. ]

I'd like to say we could have done it ourselves, but... well, you can't always predict for unpredictability, and getting us quickly could have been what saved our lives.

But, that's not the only reason I'm here. It's been a busy couple of weeks, not just from our unfortunate attempt to go to space, but for me personally. [ He indicates behind him, it's obviously an office, more strewn with metal and wires and parts than anything else. It's, frankly, an absolute mess. ] I got the loan a few weeks ago, but other than a few people I've gotten in on the ground floor, we haven't had much opportunity for hiring. Startups are always complicated.

But I'm happy to say, that if you want to work in tech and R&D, you should probably come talk to me. I can't promise high wages -- yet -- but I take care of my people, and with a few choice inventions, we'll be able to hit the ground running, and I'd like to see anyone with talent come talk to me. I promise, you won't regret it.

At least, you won't if you don't mind working for me.

I doubt it. I'm not the kind of guy you think of when you imagine tech and R&D. Though I've got to say, thanks for the offer.

Alright, alright. I thought I'd offer. I know how hard it is to get by in the scientific community -- particularly when you're starting with no name.

I'm actually doing fine where I am at the moment. The institute that I'm working at, we've started to do more field work since it's summer and reptile activity's increased.

[ bless his heart, Connors just sounds so goddamn excited about this.......and does not realize that Tony probably gives minimal shits about reptiles. ]

Oh yeah? Well, that's excellent. I'm sure you must be very excited.

[ He really gives no shits about reptiles. ]

Oh, it's great! [ says the world's happiest herpetologist. Aaaand then Connors quickly realizes wait, Tony probably doesn't care. ]

But anyway, mind giving me a hint about what's in store for Stark Industries Two-point-Oh?

Well, there's a lot of it. We're going to continue our shift toward consumer electronics, and probably release a few early-gen devices to get things up and running pretty quickly.

Obviously, it only goes so far, but a little bit will take us a long way in the future.

Well hey, I can't work with you, but I'm sure I could do product testing for any sort of electronics or something simple like that.

Another scientist for testing? I think I'd be alright with that., You guys generally know what we're looking for when we say "trial and error".

I'd like to think I'd be a halfway decent sounding board.

Well, I'd say you would be. You're technical, and talented enough that I'd suspect you'd be good at bouncing ideas off of.

Well, not that much of one, but having your help would be worth it.

[ a pause, and a small laugh. ] Though, I've got to admit, I won't be that much help at cleaning.

That's alright, I think we'll hopefully have guys for that one. You know, I'm pretty useless at it myself.

In that case, I feel sorry for your poor housemates.

Have you met my housemates? They somewhat deserve it.

Oh, I know how you live with poor Peter. [ yes, poor, he is doubting your cleaning skills Tony (all with a joking laugh) ]

I'm sure if I ask him, he'll have plenty of tales to tell about your cleaning abilities.

I think that will be the least of his complaints, obviously. He's not always my biggest fan, anyway.

[ It was obvious from his voice, that he knew Peter, which was odd, for a CEO to know a guy like Peter. ]

Although, I'd trust he wouldn't be that disapproving.

I doubt it would be. But I've got to ask--did you know Peter from back home? Or was it in the City that you two met?

Well, Mr. Parker and I knew each other before. He's got a brilliant mind, and I'd be remiss not to at least know of him. [ A pause. ] Besides, I did hire him at one point.

He really does--we've worked together occasionally, but he's more of a family friend than anything else.

Ah, I can see that. He seems to...know a lot of people.

[ Sometimes, it's a heavy burden knowing everyone, and not sharing that fact. ]

He's a popular guy, [ said with a grin and a shrug. ]

And really, when you're stuck somewhere like this, you'd want to get to know people, especially the ones from your own world.

Exactly. It's nice to have a little familiarity. Especially if you're going to be stuck here for a while.

You really start to appreciate it.
