[Hey citizens, you're looking kind of down. Anyone in need of some cheering up? Because gosh darn you're going to get it. The feed opens up to Kaneda, who despite the bruising still on his face and neck, has a smile so bright it could make a cloudy day ashamed of itself. He's sitting in his room, wearing only his worn yellow tshirt and his orange biker pants. His room's pretty average, nothing out of the ordinary.

Except for a rather playful golden retriever puppy now bouncing across it, trying to pounce on his lap. And...tripping into it. Graceful creature, really.]

So.

Guess I've got a dog now.

[His attention goes to the puppy in front of him, hands held up as the curious animal starts to try and nibble his fingers.]

Ah ah! Behave...say 'hi'...

[His voice is more gentle than usual, finger tapping the little guy on the nose. To which the dog turns his head to the camera, nose getting closer and closer and--]

HEYHEYHEY!! DON'T EAT THAT!

[After a few moments of shaky camera, it's wrestled back, Kaneda now holding the dog in his arms. And although the screens got a little puppy slobber, that smile still there. His opposite hand reaches up, scritching behind the dog's ears a moment as he thinks.]

Capsule. That's pretty fitting for a name, huh?

[STANDING IN YOUR DOORWAY SNICKERING. Koromaru is watching too. Neither of them are helpful in the slightest.]

[You are the actual worst, Ken. Look at that puppy struggling in his arms. Although, when he sees Koromaru, he's instantly trying to wiggle his way out towards him.]

So much for professional, right?

[amadaman]

I don't know what you were expecting, really.

[Koromaru's tail wags a little harder but he doesn't move, obediently staying by Ken's side.]

We should go on a run to the store. Ask for some vets, get supplies. Capsule can't eat the same food as Koromaru because he's a puppy and needs different nutrients.

[rassera]

[Koromaru seems to be Capsule's number one goal right now, paws stretching out, and eventually lying like a long stretched out lump, his bottom legs still hooked into Kaneda's arms.]

Well, you're the expert.

[He reels in the puppy, scooping him up.]

C'mon buddy, lets get you som--

[Paw to the face.]

[amadaman]

I wouldn't be a trustworthy caretaker to Koromaru if I didn't do my research. I had a hamster back home, too.

[Koromaru barks, half to agree and half to get Capsule's attention. Don't put your paw there, childthing. Ken holds out his hand -- he's got an extra collar (a bit too big, but it'll do the job) and Koromaru's leash that he never uses. He and Charlie got it just in case back on their first day.]

We can use this, but we should keep him off the ground until he's properly vaccinated so I guess you're carrying him.

[rassera]

[Kaneda stands, Capsule falling into his arms rather easily as he gives a nod--honestly, out of everyone in this city, he trusted Ken's advice. Koromaru was a living (and thriving) example of that.

Capsule himself seems to have his eyes focused on Koromaru, chin leaning over that forearm and tail slowly wagging. SO CLOSE AND YET...]

Hmm?

[His open hand takes the collar, bouncing it in his hand a moment before looking at the puppy.]

Alright buddy, ready for your first hand-me-down?

[amadaman]

[Koromaru's so excited. Officially a younger brother!! His underling, yeah! Ken grins as he reaches up to carefully put the collar around the pup, adjusting it carefully. It's not a bad fit.]

He brought it out on his own. He's really excited about having a second dog around.

[rassera]

[You know that feeling when a dog wags its tail at you and you just feel like you did something right in the world? Yeah, Kaneda's feeling that now with Koromaru. Taking this little guy home was probably one of his better ideas.

Despite how crowded Nonah already was. They had room for one more.]

Gotta be tough living with all those cats, huh, Koro?

[amadaman]

[Koromaru cocks his head to one side, wuffs, and starts circling Kaneda's feet. The cats were never a problem to him -- he liked having them around -- but his excitement over the dog is great nonetheless, and he rubs up against Kaneda's leg to show it while Ken checks his inventory. Wallet, check. Evoker, check. He's not leaving anywhere without it anymore.]

Ready?

[rassera]

[While Kaneda's hands are full, his leg brushing back against Koromaru while Ken checks his inventory.]

As ready as I'll be. Grab my money off the nightstand.

[As he hoists Capsule into his arms better, waiting by the door.]

[amadaman]

[Ken glances over to the stand, but Koromaru's already beaten him to the punch. One hop and he's snatching the wallet or whatever in his mouth, proudly bringing it over to Ken so the kid can take it, wipe off the slobber, and shove it into Kaneda's jacket pocket.]

... You look pretty happy.

[rassera]

[Like he's caught on camera, his eyes widen at the kid, before looking at Capsule in his arms. It was strange how easily it was to get used to him, at how he pretty much adored Kaneda right off the bat.

Something that loves you unconditionally...]

Guess things are looking up, huh.

[Capsule seems to agree, licking his nose.]

[amadaman]

It's nice having something to look out for. [Ken reaches down to scratch Koromaru behind the ears gently, absolutely fondly.]

Come on, Koromaru. You ready to come buy your new friend some stuff? We should get him his own bed, too, since the cats are always in yours.

[rassera]

[Well, he has a good example to be a role model, doesn't he. He looks at Koromaru and smiles, heading out the door and towards the house entrance.]

Sharing your bed...you're too good for this world, Koro.

[amadaman]

[Koromaru is so pleased by that compliment. He barks again, wagging his tail and charging ahead of them down the hall as Ken pulls out his phone and starts looking through it for the vet he got in contact with for Koro, just in case.]

Koromaru's always been a good dog, looking out for others. He's a true guardian.

[rassera]

[Kaneda starts to follow Koromaru, adjusting Capsule in his arms as he navigates through the house. It's surprising how much harder it is when you're carrying a puffball and not just your proverbial keys.]

Yeah well, he better teach Capsule here everything he knows, then!

[A playful smirk to Koromaru.]

Oi, think you're up for an apprentice, Koro? If he's gonna be my dog, he's gonna be a handful!

[amadaman]

[Koromaru barks, and if that sound isn't one of enthusiasm, it'll be hard to say what else it could possibly be. He's more than ready for this new underling of his, although Ken gives an exasperated and exaggerated sigh.]

I have to make sure Koromaru influences him more than you do.

[rassera]

[Hearing Koromaru's bark, Capsule replies with one of his own, although its more of a...squeak.]

Wha-?

[Cue the toothy grin.]

You saying I'm a bad influence?

[amadaman]

At the very least, Koromaru is a better influence on anybody than you or me.

[rassera]

...

[Well, Ken's got him there. Koromaru's the most responsible out of probably everyone in the house sans Charlie.]

Capsule, you don't know how lucky you are, you know that?

[amadaman]

[It's because they're both old, that's why. Koromaru barks to Capsule that he's in good hands with everyone here before he hops out through the front door Ken opens and dashes to the sidewalk. Excited as he may be, he still won't leave the kids behind.]

[rassera]

[Capsule wags his tail in return, trying to wiggle out of those arms to follow, although Kaneda's certainly got a good grip on him.

It doesn't take long until he's walking out with him, waiting for Ken to bring up the rear.]

Where to first?

[amadaman]

The vet. We don't want to buy his food in case the doctors tell us he needs special nutrition or we should keep him away from certain stuff or anything like that.

[When Ken first got here, he had no idea what "Google" was. He didn't really know how to use the map on his phone, either. In Iwatodai there was no reason for him to look up anything because he just knew. Now, he's clicking away at his phone one-handedly while falling into step with Kaneda.]

There's one not too far from here. It's a bit of a walk but we can't take these guys on a bus.

[rassera]

[Phones in general weren't something Kaneda was used to. Not because of lack of technology--no, it was definitely there. Maybe not 'Google' or things like that, but it was there in its own way. But Kaneda was a punk on the street--phones weren't something he had access too. Especially not ones that you had to pay for a service for.

So he'll lean over Ken, watching what he's typing as he carries Capsule, trusting Koromaru to lead the way.]

Walking's no problem.

[A look at Capsule.]

You're lucky we got an expert here, otherwise you'd just be eating whatever I could get.

[amadaman]

I think even if you didn't have me, people like dogs enough you'd find someone to nag you about it anyway.

[So he says, but Ken's secretly pleased, face flushing a little as he punches at his phone furiously. He quickly finds a fast route to the vet, memorizes it, and returns his phone to his pocket. Koromaru looks back at them but turns and continues to trot along after a nod from Ken.]

To tell you the truth, I think it's completely irresponsible to take in a dog on a whim, but I'll just make sure you do everything right. And I'll trust your impulses over your more carefully thought out plans.
