[ PRIVATE: It's nearly 3 in the morning when Poe finds himself outside the porter building. Usually he would make a series of phone calls, but the late hour means he just sends texts. So his closest friends will get a brief text message that says simply: ]

i'm back

[ PUBLIC: The next morning he makes a post on the network itself, for everyone. He's on video, standing outside his home - Base One - just outside Nonah. And he looks annoyed. ]

So. Firstly, uh, hey everyone, I'm back. So that's the good news.

The bad news is, the company I hired to handle my affairs in case of a terminal port out have really fucked up. They had instructions to send out some stuff if I was gone for over a month. Which, well, I wasn't - two weeks is not a month - but they went and sent them all anyway.

So uh - if any of you got packages from me? Please just ignore them?

For everyone else, I would advise avoiding "Just Will It" to handle your affairs. I thought it was neat that they had a special "imPorts only Port-Out Package", but apparently they have no idea what the hell they are doing.

If anyone has advice for how to better handle this kind of thing, I'm all ears. Because my set up did not go according to plan. Is there an import-run business for this sort of thing? Maybe they would get that sending my will out early would be a piss-poor move.

He knows how these things go; Poe will need his time with those he lives with and those who responded more... explosively to his absence. Rex can be patient. The man's here, isn't he? No point in making him run around town with his arse on fire just because everyone wants to see him at once.

Once there's a knock at the door, though, Rex is unmistakeably glad to see him. Poe's become important to him in addition to those that are important to Rex, after all, and for all that the man is almost criminally mercurial, life's better when he's around. So when he opens the door, he doesn't hesitate before tugging him into a hard embrace, saying into his ear, ] You can keep the damn money, Dameron.

[ A fund. For Martin. Incredible. Ridiculous. As ridiculous as the rest of it, said as last words even though he came in before Rex could even get the damn chip out, right when his doubts are in full force. He slaps Poe on the back before leaning back, one hand still braced on Poe's shoulder. Rex looks like shit, of course, but he usually looks like shit these days. At least he doesn't look like shit with stitches sticking out of his scalp like 622. ]

It's good to have you back.

[ He wasn't expecting the hug. Rex had only hugged him once before, and that time Poe had been the one to initiate it. He just thought that maybe Rex wasn't the most huggy guy in the world, and that was fine. So he'd been expecting a stoic look and maybe a tense, manly arm grip. But he was all too happy to get the hug, returning it back quickly and with just as much force. ]

Hey, Rex.

I'd say good to be back but honestly it doesn't feel like I left.

[ He pulled back and gave Rex and apologetic look. ] Sorry. You weren't supposed to even find out about that fund until I was gone for a month, but. It's not like I'm doing anything with it, Rex. I've been building it up for a little while now.

It's not like I'm going to have a kid, here.

[ He glanced over the clone and then gave him a more pained smile. ]
