They'll care. I never implied they wouldn't. You simply need to convince them that your Russian-American status is not a detriment to your being a citizen. Perhaps discuss the unique perspective your ethnicity has provided you with? They may initially perceive such a thing as a weakness, but they cannot dispute that the best individual strengths also stem from the same roots.
