ok here is the question:

Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.

like where do i even start with that

i know the past
and history has some very cyclical habits so that might as well mean i know the future too
accounting for certain outside elements that lean very heavily toward ones plans being derailed should generally inspire her to think of ways to expedite them

it means that ive been an import for three and a half years
but thats isnt the rule so much as the exception
even those who have been about longer havent got much more than five to them
it means that even beyond whatever amount of limited time i will have here i dont expect to live very long

our time is at a premium
make use of it while you can
if you want to be an engineer there are bound to be quicker ways to accomplish it
im sure other imports with the specialization could be willing to teach you
rather than leaving it to the dubious quality of the american education system

that isnt what i meant
ive been home before

[ though there are some who might say the the you who returns isn't the you who left, the person you've grown into will die with your exit to be replaced by the person you were, her brother could tell jayden all of his unending and paralyzing feelings on the subject. but even that isn't what she's talking about.

it's more specific to her thoughts of home, and whether this is any less appropriate for it than what she's come from. and even there, that whatever she has waiting can't possibly end well, and if it does, what place will an undead member of a dead race possibly have in it? she's not terribly hopeful for her future, but she can't help being jaded. it runs in her blood.

after some consideration, she appends her statement.
]

assuming that home is a term that holds any real meaning

living my life is exactly what im doing
the human approach to education is only a holding pattern
a waiting game you play until it is deemed that you have fulfilled the arbitrary requirements to practice the trade you have selected
there isnt any real logic to it
everyone just does it because it is what theyve been told should be done
can that really be called living

well there are options
you could attend it anyway with full awareness of what youre involving yourself with and a very dedicated class schedule
my girlfriend is doing that
but there arent really any universities back home for us so it will be her only opportunity
and they have very rigid requirements for someone planning to practice psychology

or you could do as i did and drop out to enter the workforce
tactile trades like my own generally require more experience to master than they do education
and registration will afford you benefits to getting that started

[ don't follow in her footsteps jayden, she works three jobs and her actual trade is the most minor of them. it's a bad move. though he at least won't have a girlfriend whose school needs to be paid for. ]

or you could follow my earlier recommendation
there are plenty of engineers among the import populace and one of them may well be willing to take in an apprentice
that could even be done in concert with the other options if youd prefer
but i can almost promise youd learn it faster that way

you do that
you can be more confident in the ultimate decision as long as youre certain that the thought youve put into it is sufficient
always know what youre doing
the important part is to not take it for granted because you think its what you shouldve done on another world entirely
