So, this is gonna sound kinda random, but. I've been wondering for a little while...what's New York like here? I just wanna know if it's anything like the New York from my world.

Actually, now that I think about it--how does the New York here compare to New York where you came from? If you've ever been there, I mean. 'Cause now I'm wondering about all the different versions of it we probably know.

It's not usually that touristy, depending on what part of the city you go to. The hot dogs are like that pretty much everywhere, though.

Yeah, those are the other four. Although some people like to say Staten Island doesn't count.

Well--I don't really know. It's further away than the rest of New York? I'm not really sure, I've never even gone there before. I think people just like to make fun of places. Like New Jersey.

Japan's nothing but islands, right? Does that mean all the islands hate each other like New York hates Staten Island?

I'd hope not! Japan has four main islands, but there are also over four hundred smaller islands that people have inhabited. It would be a problem if they all disliked each other.

Oh. Yeah, probably. Then they'd be like their own tiny countries too, I guess.

...does Japan have any cities like New York? That are all like island-y?

[Well. Not like all of New York is on totally separate islands, some of it is even connected to mainland America. BUT THERE ARE DEFINITELY ISLANDS INVOLVED IN NEW YORK CITY TERRITORY.]

All island-like... if you mean completely surrounded by water, there are multiple island cities, but most aren't as large as your state.
