[ The screen flickers on to a face that’s as pure America as apple pie. With his wide jaw set at a stiff angle and his blond hair all a mess after facing the abuse of a helmet for far too long, Steve stares down into the endless abyss of an open video communication log. He’s not exactly comfortable with this, but he can’t think of a much better way to find familiar faces besides going door to door -- not that he didn’t consider it. Briefly. ]

This is Captain Steve Rogers. I’m looking for members of my team; we were separated before I arrived here.

[ He’s not naming names; at least one person on said team goes by well over a dozen of them, and he’s pretty sure she’d snap his neck in six places if he even so much as uttered one of them on an unsecure channel. ]

Near as I can tell, most everybody here has been dragged away from their lives to fight somebody else’s war by a governing body that doesn't seem keen on so much as a “please” and “thank you;” if I’m wrong about that, I’d love to hear about it. If I’m not, I’d certainly like to hear more about that, too. So whatever information you’ve got, I’ll take it.

[ What do you say from here? After a long and somewhat frustrated silence, he closes with: ]

[Goodness, so polite. But judging by his title and demeanor, he was likely brought up that way.]

I'm not certain if any of your team members are here, but there's a lot of people I've yet to meet so it's possible that they're around.

If they're looking for you, I'm sure they will respond.

[ And yes, he was indeed brought up that way; his Mama done raised him right. He lets out a breath at that, something akin to a laugh but a little too worn out to fit the title. ]

I've found a couple... sort of. Not exactly the ones I was looking for. Turns out things here aren't like they are back home.

The pleasure is all mine, Captain.

[ Another smile. She wants to make him feel at ease, comfortable to talk to her. ]

Oh? Well, that is a little unfortunate. But I can attest to the fact that this place is different to where I'm from. [ There's a pause. ]

Are they from another universe or something? I've heard that's a possibility.

[ It's not the first time he's seen a lady turn up the charm -- but then again, he's run a hell of a lot of missions with Natasha. He reacts pleasantly, even offers the appropriate smile, but she always beat it into his head right proper: never let your guard down, no matter how pretty the dame. ]

That... about sums it up, yeah. "Multiverse" is what they've told me about. So they know me, but I don't really know them.

[ Sometimes, her charm could be her best weapon and Bela wasn't above using her looks to get what she wanted. ]

Now you have the opportunity to get to know them. If you want to of course. [A pause.] Having some allies in a place like this doesn't hurt though.
