So I guess I'm supposed to give you guys traffic updates or something. And you know me--I've got a burning desire to be an upstanding citizen.

[He turns his communicator about 30 degrees to the left, showing a patch of empty road that his bike was parked next to. Insert the cliche tumbleweed for some added aesthetic.]

[Okay, even he can't hide his smirk anymore.]

Yep. It's a hover-vespa I got at my first Swear-in. It's not capable of crazy speeds, but it's a vehicle, so I'm not complaining.

Hover-vespa, huh.

Well, it gets the job done, right? Gets ya to and from?

Bet you'd be great on something more high speed, though. As a hobby.

Yeah. It's a good little bike.

[He considers this -- he's never really gotten a chance to explore an option like that before.]

We'll have to browse around. Find something with actual wheels.

[Because wheels on the pavement are what really make it.]

You know, I heard that from a friend of mine a while ago. She has a car with wheels that another imPort built for her.

It's hard to describe. Just...something about feeling the wheels underneath you just gives you a rush.

Makes it feel real.

I gotcha. The hover... it's kinda weird, you know? It doesn't slide, but it feels like it should.

[rassera]

I flew...something like it once. Took forever to figure out the brakes.

[Not exactly the best thing to not-know when flying something, honestly.]

And hey, with wheels, at least you know how far it is to the ground, right?

Hahah. This thing is pretty intuitive. It's got hand brakes. And yeah, though the hover can't get any higher or lower off the ground to begin with.

You can't go any higher?

[Well that's a bummer, says the guy who's vehicle goes a whole 0 feet off the ground.]

...Mind if I take a look sometime?

Sure, you're welcome to. It's hover, not "flight". I think the hover is just so that they can spend less money on repairing the pavement.

[Then why have pavement at all, he wonders. Not that he's complaining. Without pavement his riding would be a lot less fun and more dusty.]
