[ strolling down streets as she talks, occasionally glancing around in interest, bright and cheerful. it's a sunny day, everything looks bright. ]
Not that I'm not flattered, and I mean, the job is great and all that. It's nice to know I have a way to support myself. But I think they got the wrong Gothamite. I can do computers, but I'm not really the hero type.
I'd say about how I was in the middle of stuff but that doesn't seem to be an actual concern to them.
Which is actually a little unsettling in people who want me to hero it up for them. And I've got to say, handing out powers to people you don't really know all that well yet and who just got sort of kidnapped? Not actually seeming like a bright idea from over here.
It's probably a long shot, but anyone know Terry McGinnis? [ just in case! you never know. ] Or know anything more than they've told us? It'd be nice to get more of the lay of the land.

permavid.
scathach breathes. she keeps her expression impassive when she finally turns the video on to reply.]
There isn't a Terry McGinnis here, to my knowledge.
permavid.
It was a long shot. Probably best he's not here, anyways. Thanks, though. I appreciate it.

God, just because the cars are different doesn't mean we have to have flashback Tuesday.
video
Actually the cars are pretty much like mine, which is weird. It's too early in the timeline for flying cars. [ but that sentence of yours was a little confusing, April. ] Not sure what you mean by flashback Tuesday?

What job did you get saddled with?

I'm playing IT tech support for some computer company I've never heard of. Sounds boring, but I'll be good at it.

Well, apparently, they have no more control over it than they had in the City. and you know already how discerning Lachesis was with her gifts.
An accident waiting to happen, perhaps, but that's why we have to pay better attention to make up for the lack on the Porter's part.
video;
Sorry, Lachesis? I don't recognize that name.

He's not here, but he hadn't been in the City for a long time either.

The City - is that the universe before this one that the definitely-not-my Terry was talking about?

BUT HEY eventually: ] ...Oh. This is working? [ scuffly blackness resolves itself into a veiled face, hooray for u maria ] Hello. I do not think not hero type bothers these people.

It's working. Why do you think that, though? They said they wanted heroes.

The kidnapping you get used to, unfortunately. The powers, too. Those are less unfortunate! What did you get, may I ask?

[ paaause because she doesn't know how much she actually wants to broadcast things. but everyone knows she has to have at least one.
she'll give away one of them. ] Apparently I've got mechanopathy of some kind now. Not entirely sure how that works, but hey.
