[ Cisco sits back from turning the video feed on, his garage/workshop visible in the background, and goes back to fiddling with a project on his workbench while he talks. ]

So, what kind of movies do you guys like? Back home, I mean. I know stuff is weird here and some movies don't exist, and they have stuff some of us don't have back home, so if there's any good universe-local movies I'm missing out on that only exist here, I could use some recs, too. Bonus points if there's any really good alternate universe versions of stuff I'd know from home. Negative points if it's propaganda crap, because there's enough of that on TV as it is.

[ He props up the thing he's working on to get at the bottom of it, and it looks like a projector. Wonder what that could be for! ]

[ He does, in fact, pick up his comm and start messing around with it. Without turning the video feed off, god, Cisco, that's so inconsiderate. ]

I'm full of good suggestions. I mean, bad suggestions, technically, but both wind up working. So you're planning on holding a few movie nights, huh?

Yeah! I'm gonna rig up a screen in the backyard and get snacks and everything. It seems like people are into it, and everybody could use something to do other than falling into comas, having personal secrets shared a big government events, or having horrible visions of the super awful future, right?

Hey, were you hit by that too? The weird hallucination thingy?

Surprisingly, no. But Barry was, and he filled me in on some of what he saw. And stuff he heard from other people.

Mm, yeah. I got hit by the whole looking-into-the-past one. Which one did Barry get?

2025, where imPorts are allowed to kill people just because, as long as they get their hero stuff done! And he also told me someone was talking about De Chima being like a police state in the future or something, super not okay.

[khajidont]

Oh, that one.

Someone was trying real hard to scare us.

How'd they even manage it, anyway? Barry was just walking around like normal, only not talking to anybody.

No clue. It's not the first time something like this has happened, but usually we're just conked out first.

I'm not sure if that's a better alternative or not.

I... have no idea, actually. Both ways are pretty darn freaky. This way is probably less messy.

Yeah, I'm a big fan of people not being in comas. [ Particularly Barry, jeez. ] But the walking around not talking was super creepy.

Okay, point. Maybe our next deal can be for it just to not happen at all. I feel like not having something messing with our heads is the least we can ask for. It's always us, too.

[Not that he wants natives to have to go through it, but...]

You think maybe something about the way the Porter works makes us especially susceptible?

Well, we're pumped full of nanites. That's one way we're different from everyone else.

That, and people tend to attack things while we're around. It's sort of a thing.
