This is Skeets. He is objectively perfect. He also is my boyfriend now.

[Yeah, he's basically just doing this. He's pretty happy right now, which might be why he's making such a dumb post. But let him just have this once, okay?]

Oh.

[ Just a simple syllable of surprise. He has a lot of feelings on this news, regardless of the fact that he knows neither of the robots in question. But he is still very much an android, and very much in love. Unfortunately, he's cursed to love a human who will never love him back. He knows this, and has accepted it.

To see his fellow robots find love with each other... It gives him hope.

When he speaks, he uses the English accent that Hux recommended (for better or for worse). ]

His phororeceptors glance over the video feed, minute movements from his face to his eyes, to hair. He sounds like Hux. He looks like Hux. The behavior and hairstyle does not fit with Hux. Still, his facial recognition is perfectly functional, and so he can only assume this is Hux, or the Impostor, who he hasn't seen in a while, as well as this doesn't seem like their M.O.]

Archie mentioned you, and your boyfriend, to me. Another robot mentioned a K2 who I'm assuming is you as well.

[ His voice, while closer to Hux than his Irish accent, is softer than the General's. Kinder. More curious, less confident. ]

[People can change their Network ID tags, so he doesn't like to rely on that. Instead he watches Ash's face as he talks, looking for signs of lying. He finds signs of... nothing, instead. Very few 'tells.'

Typically the sign of a very good liar. But there are other circumstances.]

What do you need to speak to me about?

He'd said I should see you. He didn't say why.

But I think it had to do with the fact that we're both AI.

I don't have a human form. I didn't know anyone could be given a human form until I met Riptide.

[ And he was instantly jealous. ]

I'm an android. I'm built to look human, but I'm all synthetic.

It's a hassle, and I don't bother with it unless I specifically need to. Riptide uses it mostly because otherwise, he is over thirty feet tall.

I see. And you just... happen to look identical to General Hux.

Yes, I've noticed. He's quite large.

Oh, do you know him? [ Ash smiles. It doesn't occur to him that this might be one of the enemies Kylo had mentioned. ]

Yes, it's a little creepy how similar he looks. But I'm not modeled after him. I'm modeled after a man who just looks like him, but isn't him, or related to him, at all.

So there's just multiple individuals running around, looking like Hux.

[ Ash appears to think about that for a moment. ]

There's at least two. Myself, and him.

Here, yes. But in the universe as a whole? There could be dozens. I knew that statistically, a human's genetics- despite how many variations and permutations there are- might at some point circle back to replicating the same appearance as another human. A very low chance, but still possible.

But for it to be Hux that I see an example of this with...

How old are you? How long were you kept in the attic?

[ Ash nearly asks how he knows about the attic. But there's only one person on this version of Earth that Ash has told about that. So, it's not hard to guess. ]

You've spoken to Archie about me.

I've been active for just over ten years. Most all of that was spent in the attic.

Archie spoke to me about you.

[Ten years in an attic. He'd probably deactivate himself out of boredom.]

[ Ash frowns. He knows exactly why Martha kept him in the attic, but he doesn't like having to say it out loud. ]

I am a copy of her deceased partner. I look like him, I speak like him. I was created to help her through her grief when he passed. But... I'm not him. Not enough. She can't stand to look at me. My distance restriction prevented me from leaving her, and she couldn't bring herself to get rid of me. [ Even though she tried, once. ]

The attic was a compromise.

Clearly the distance restriction isn't active here, since she isn't here. And that was programmed in, I presume.

You've likely noticed that there are other things that were programmed in that you no longer need to follow. You also might have noticed additional things that were not part of your programming that you are now finding yourself doing.

What are your thoughts on that?

He's an AI. Uh-- I know it's probably kind of offensive to send him to you because you're also an AI, but... your level of technology doesn't exist where I come from, so I figured you'd know what to do on that front, at least.

He said... his administrator didn't allow him to leave the attic, which is pretty fucked up, but he was fine with it. Which is also fucked up.

If his administrator didn't let him leave the attic, then the reason he was fine with it is because his administrator said to do it.

They aren't here, are they? His administrator?

Alright. I may be able to work with this. I have no experience with advising an 'android' before in this manner, though. I can't promise any positive results.

If anything, I hope he at least sees his life doesn't have to revolve around his administrator, and that he can actually live how he wants. Like you and Skeets are.

Ah.

[It's funny, almost, that Archie is under the impression that his existence doesn't still revolve around his own 'administrator' (Cassian), but just in less obvious ways. He doesn't have to do what Cassian asks, but he does, because it's typically for the best. He can live how he wants, but he still chooses to live as closely to Cassian as possible, to ensure his happiness as best he can.

He wonders if Skeets would be doing the same, if Booster Gold was here.]
