I don't know what I saw yesterday, but I don't think I'm the only one who saw it.
I need information about a brainwashing facility that might have existed twenty, maybe thirty years ago. Or anything dealing with imPorts, if there's a record of that. I've been looking into it, but I haven't had a lot of luck turning anything up.
I want to know if that was real.

I can't find much about that time in general- a few references to the 'Peaceful Compliance Act' and protests against it in less mainstream sources, but that's all.

At least I know I'm not going crazy, unless it was a mass hallucination.
What's the Peaceful Compliance Act?

I haven't seen anyone else mention it, so I wasn't sure if I was the only one, though there were people I recognized.
I woke up in a room where imPorts were drugged and restrained, forced to watch some kind of propaganda video. It seemed like it was part of a bigger facility. It was big -- hard to get an accurate sense of its size, but big enough to lose your sense of direction in.
The videos seemed to be designed to ensure compliance and loyalty to the government. Based on the state of technology in use, I'd say it pre-dates what we've seen in Heropa, but I'm not an expert on that.
[ That seems good enough. Then, as a follow-up: ]
But I didn't actually go anywhere, not physically. I've been in my room the whole time.

I got a vision of the past... I think. Or something that was supposed to be. I don't know how much of it was real.

What did you see? Something like that happened earlier this week to me, too. Some kind of mass hallucination?

Are you all right?
I can't say I've heard anything about that. Although it would certainly explain a few things.
Were you able to see anything else that might give some more information as to its location or what it might be called?
PRIVATE FOREVER
I'm fine -- just pissed off. I don't like my head being messed with.
The tech was outdated enough that it looked like it must have been in the past, though I know what that sounds like. Kaidan says I never left my room, but if it was a dream, it was a pretty convincing one. Getting tazed definitely felt real enough.
ALL THE PRIVATES--wait...

I know, but I think this is something a little bigger than you and me. I thought I'd try to see what I could find out first, but it isn't much.
Makes me wonder if any of it was real.

Yesterday I woke up and I thought I was somewhere else, but Kaidan says I've been in my room the whole time. It's not the first time this has happened, either.

You traveled backward, not forward in time?

I don't think it counts as time travel if your body doesn't come with you. But I've seen both in one week.

Was everything normal once you woke up?
[The ambiguous wording is a concession to privacy -- in case Shepard doesn't want his brainwashing to be public knowledge. Jaime sure wouldn't.]
no subject
As normal as being in another universe ever is.
[ Jaime had come in towards the end of things, he remembers that much. Though the details are blurry, he also has the uncomfortable memory of being little more than dead weight, and eventually checking out of the hallucination entirely, so he has no idea how that turned out. ]
Did you ever find a way out?

All I know is that I wasn't the only one who experienced that. Other people saw more than I did -- there were protests. And something called the Peaceful Compliance Act.
