[ Peter looks mildly disconcerted albeit relaxed when he makes his debut. He's not sure he's all that keen on this whole being videotaped thing but he's keeping the focus on himself, not any of his surroundings. ]

So i've been here a couple weeks now. Still trying to get my footing, gotta admit it helps to have a job. Don't really know what that's about, seems a little odd to get handed out freebies just for showing up in a place. [ He shrugs, nonchalant. ]

Not really what I want to talk about, though.

[ A sigh and Peter repositions himself to get down to serious business, brow furrowing deeper. What was once disconcerted is now downright displeased. ]

Back home for me, not that i'm expecting anyone to care about another world apart from theirs, people with abilities are being hunted by the government. People who haven't done anything but live their lives, people who are just trying to exist. They're being chased down, attacked, drugged, and transported to an off site location. I don't really know where they're being taken, I haven't been there, but all I know is it's being kept a secret from the general populous. It's an undercover operation that nobody knows anything about except for those of us who've ended up on the run.

I don't want that to happen here. I don't really know if i'm expecting it to, I know the circumstances are different. Maybe I should have a little more faith in the system here. I mean, I don't want it to be happening back home either but i'm not there anymore to do anything about it. [ A fact he sounds mildly strained about. ] As far as I know, i'm stuck here until I can go back and that means living through whatever happens here.

Haven't talked to that many people yet and I just want to know what to expect from this place. Because of what's expected of me. I know we don't have anything at home like what i've signed up for here, but I still want to know more. What kind of treatment are we in for? And yeah, I know enough about the government here to know what's illegal and what's not, I get that much, but that doesn't mean that things can't change. That people haven't said things or done things in the past that might not be true to their word. People can change their minds and make decisions and it doesn't matter how far under the radar you stay. It won't matter who you are or who you know. Those people can effect your life just because they're scared and think they're in the right.

All I want to know is what it's been like for people here, if we're going to end up against the same things. I don't care if you've pledged allegiance to anyone or not, tell me what's actually been happening. [ a beat ] Oh- I'm Peter, by the way. Might as well introduce myself.

[ the video feed opens on david as reflected through a mirror. is he taking a bathroom selfie? david, that's gross. his communicator is nowhere to be seen, and both his hands are leaning against the vanity. where is the camera? his visor, probably. ]

In my time here, especially since beginning work as a career counselor, it's become alarmingly clear to me that at least half the people here have no idea how to use the devices they're giving. Some of you are from times where technology of this nature didn't exist, and that may not be your fault. But it is a problem that demands a solution.

[ with a slight twitch of his eye, the camera shifts subtly. but the view takes on a yellow tint, and an overlay of the video appears on the left side, until it's quickly swiped away. he pulls his visor up to his forehead, and the yellow comes away with it. oh, he's in front of a mirror because he's showing off how much he knows about the systems, broadcasting directly from his eyes.

Here at imPort Career Services, our job is to equalize the playing field, to give you the tools to live as full and satisfying a life as you're inclined to while you are forced to live here. Some of you have already taken advantage of our jobfinder program, but there's still more we can offer.

I'm going to be holding a workshop on Sunday at the community center, focused on giving imPorts a primer on the most basic technology you'll encounter in your lives: the communicator. We'll be going through the basics, how the Network app works and how-tos for various scenarios, and even touch upon some of the more advanced features, [ pressing a finger to his temple, ] like the mental relays.

In the future, I would also like to give classes on Office, Acrobat, and other programs you may encounter in the workplace, but our funding is a little in flux with the exit of Mr. Edgeworth, our organization's founder. I'll keep you updated as that situation progresses.

Attendance is free, just make sure you're there by 9am when we get started.

[ Hey look it's Clem! Hi Clem! Only she looks a little ... guilty, and sheepish today. She's curled up on a chair by the window, with a book open in her lap, and a look of concentration on her face. Occasionally she glances up and around at a sound of the apartment settling, or a bird chirping - any noise she wasn't expected she jumps a bit in surprise. ]

.... I kind of messed up at work today. I think the man I work for is mad at me.

[ Or just a little concerned, Same thing. But uh... what exactly she did to make him concerned in the first place ...well, she knew she screwed up badly there. ]

Is Thane still here?

[ She hopes he is, but...wouldn't be surprised if he was gone - that tended to be the norm; people leave. At least he hasn't died right? After an awkward pause, she decides to offer another question. ]

[Samara’s face holds little expression aside from the hint of what could be a smile touching the corner of her lips.]

It has been a long time since I have found myself in a position to act upon my curiosities. [After all curiosity can lead to very unpleasant things when it comes to the life of a Justicar. However, in this place, she sees little problem in at least entertaining a few of her curiosities. It is almost refreshing to ask questions and learn again. ]

I feel as though it may have left me somewhat rusty when it comes to asking questions on such a large scale. [Rusty is the nice way to put it, let’s be real here.] However, the more I have spoken to people here, the more curious I have become about this particular subject. [So, she’s going to attempt asking a question and talking to people, hopefully she will not be terribly awkward at it.]

The question I have is simple: how are injustices handled in your world? I understand many come from places with strict laws in place to punish those that commit crimes, but I find myself interested in what other ways people have for handling such things. [She tilts her head slightly to the left.] Though if any would like to speak about the laws they have, I would be interested in hearing of those as well.

[She smiles just a tiny bit and bows her head slightly before turning things off.]
